Its actually the other way around, its been proven that the heavier and thicker the gloves, the more dangerous it is, because of the sustained damage to the brain while not knocking the person out and keeping them on their feet for longer.

I actually watched that Ali fight against Inoki with my old grandpa 40 years ago.
There was concern that Ali might loose his leg due to artery damage in the newspapers the next day and gramps was pissed at the "dirty Jap fighter". It was after all only 30 years since WW2 and gramps hadn't forgiven them yet.  :D


My recently departed grandfather never stopped hating Germans. But would you? He witnessed them kill all 3 of his brothers one day in 1942.

the distance of 15 rounds against Antonio Inoki. Ali's leg was fucked up big time.

Saw the Ali Inoki fight at the Spectrum in Philly on Closed Circuit. Andre the Giant fought Chuck Wepner on that card also.

I always LMAO at those who think any of these MMA clowns would have had a prayer against a prime Tyson in any sort of altercation. Any of them would have shit their pants at just the thought of facing a '86-89 Tyson in a boxing ring or street fight.

Maybe they'd have a chance of surviving in a fight inside a ring with lots of rules by running away from him - like Bonecrusher Smith, Tillis, Green, and Tucker did... if he was barred from using his hands or fists or something.  ::)

Of course by 1990, Tyson had lost his mind and his will to live and was a shadow of his former self. '86-89 Tyson was the greatest. After that he was a head case.

tyson always spoke very highly and respectfully of fedor calling him the best fighting athlete he has seen.
ali on the other hand thought he was king shit till he went up against inoki. it was meant to be a full mma match but ali and his handlers
chickened out and demanded ridiculous stipulations like what was seen in that fight he wasnt even allowed to stand and he still fucked up ali
after that fight he knew better funny thing was he became friends with him and even showed up to inoki last wrestling match.

duran on the other hand is one stubborn motherfukr he wanted a rematch after his loss lol
