It will be awesome.

He belongs on the big stage, but I think it will be Harper who ends up there.  Trout's already under contract until 2020, and will be paid 34M per year for the last three years of it.

yeah, Trout will be a free agent after his age 28 season.
so that's when the craziness will ensue (assuming he's healthy.)
sure, New York's the biggest stage but it's not like he's playing at the Trop...he's playing across from Disneyland!
he appears to be a throwback so i'd like to see him spend his whole career with one team (like the legends of yesteryear.)

I can respect that.

I guess it will depend on Anaheim's success.  If they stink throughout the contract, he may want to move.  I think he's a Jersey guy anyway, but I don't know what team he liked growing up.  I know Harper's always been a Yankee fan.

;D ;D ;D ;D watched last nights hr derby and thoroughly enjoyed it under the new format the event is timed, no longer are guys standing there looking at pitch after pitch... new format was fast paced and interesting in my humble opinion... unlike the slam dunk which features mostly no name scrubs... ::) ::) ::) ::)

I used to love the homerun derby yet i dont like baseball.

poor scouting look at mike  the long shot piazza , under the phillies noses for his whole life, yet they as well as all the other mlb teams saw little or no value in him....... he subsequently went as a 62 round courtesy pick to the dodgers only  to appease his gumba tommy lasorda

I don't think it was poor scouting on NY's part.  Since the Yankees finished so high in the standings since the mid 90s, they rarely had draft positions low enough to land guys like that (although Trout was the 25th pick in the 1st round, which was a pick Anaheim got from NY.  Anaheim also had the 24th, and said they would have taken Trout anyway if they didn't have the Yankees pick, so NY had no chance - Mets had no pick above 25.)

In essence, all the teams ahead whiffed on Trout, but NY was not one of them.

Yes, and the friggin' LOADED the farm with international free agents this year in the low levels.

Judge / Severino could make big impacts this year.
