Why not honor your wife by allowing a good woman into your heart?  There is room enough in eternity for all and in like fashion, there is room in your heart for a woman willing and wanting to share her's with you.    Your beloved is neither replaced or displaced.  Start with being friends and then see where it goes.  Because love is nothing less than true friendship set to the music that is two lives playing the same tune.

A friend of mine lost his wife about two years ago and recently met a  nice widow and they have begun dating and he knows the truth of what I have said to you.    Or you can ignore what I have said.

Thank you for your sound advice. Perhaps it is because I do not live alone, the desire to look for a new partner is not as great as it would be if I were.

It's just fun to get you going, to be honest. You fall for it every time, which means you're either triggered by every social injustice you come across on this forum or you're guilty of the very things being discussed in this thread, particularly since they weren't directed at you. Same way Nether Animal's gimmicks would constantly defend people with herpes when there was no obvious reason to do so. I think you've got some dark hidden evil secret you're trying to keep under wraps and I've been tugging away at the adhesive tape around it with this thread. No other way to explain why you're so invested, even days later, when the conversation was basically already over.  ;)

This is yet another days later response. ::) Thanks for being honest. Being a little bit gullible suits me. I'd rather this than being overly suspicious. One thing I've never been is secretive. Secrets are like lies, eventually they are found out. I'm working on not taking what you say to or about me personally. :)

Do not look for a new partner, look for a new friend.  Remember, love is friendship set to music. You need not "complete" one another, just fill in the holes of the heart and soul.  It all starts with a "hello".  It's just a hello.  It's just a cup of coffee.  It's just a movie.  It's just a life and so much more.

What woman wants a gay sheltered 80 year old pervert as a friend?

Watch out, Straw Man's spidey sense just tingled. He's gonna come rampaging through this thread, screaming hysterically at you that your invisible buddy let you down and made you walk away to atheism all sad and kwying.

Who goes to Vegas and drinks other than trash ?  Bring some drugs.  No bloat. No running to the bathroom to pee and the effect last a lot longer. Coke is huge again because of the expensive cost of drinks in big cities

Eight ball per day , talking my language.  Well my language more so in my 20’s before I had a house and had money to burn

74? I have a good friend that is 77. I'm 56. Age is a state of mind. My 77 year old friend acts like he is 60 and it's hard to keep up with him sometimes. good for you

The minimum amount of service needed to retire as a law enforcement officer with a full pension is 25 years here. So if some guy starts at 20 he can be done in his mid-40s, which is a lot younger than 56.

Fair enough. I did 10 years military. 24 years law enforcement. Retired at 53. I'm 56 now.

Many places it is the 80 rule. Years of service plus age equals 80

If my ideas were actually stuck in the 70;s would I be racists, anti feminist and other things. ?

No, you'd be a hippie who voted for Carter. I never said you took in the values of the period on the opposite side of the spectrum.  :D

Most cops don't even live that long.
