We currently live in a time of emerging sexual freedoms. People discussing their 'private lives' is commonplace and not at all limited to homosexuals. You and I grew up in a time when people just didn't talk about their sex lives publicly, although many did so privately. Times change, whether you like it or not. You do not have to agree with these changes. But, constantly fighting them is going to be a losing battle for you.
That's the huge difference between you and me. I just don't passively accept things that I believe is wrong. Win or lose I fight for what I believe in. Remember I said that my father made me read, To Kill a Mocking Bird, and pay close attention to Atticus Finch. There's more to being strong than guns, fists or muscle. There's strength in character and standing up for what's right -- win or lose. It's easy when you know you will win. The true test is do you stand up and fight even though you may lose?
“I wanted you to see what real courage is, instead of getting the idea that courage is a man with a gun in his hand. It’s when you know you’re licked before you begin but you begin anyway and you see it through no matter what. You rarely win, but sometimes you do.”
-- Atticus Finch to his young daughter, Scout.
