Well slap my ass and call me Mary, but, I tend to get the opposite reaction.Perhaps it's the left over fart fumes and ball sweat that causes them to make a hasty retreat?
I know exactly what you mean. First time at a new gym and I'm the only guy in Depends™ with a walker and couple of young guys are watching me train. The very next day the same two guys show up with both and ask if they can work in on the HummerFitness Adductor Machine.
exertec in allentown had a pair of 200's for when ronnie coleman would drop by. a few years back exertec closed for the holidays and never reopened they left lock stock and 200 lb dbs. it was as if they were never there.
Other than rowing one that time, 200# dbs are/and never were something I was capable of doing anything else with. My biggest fear was I'd tear my bicep trying that much with one arm. Having the memory, and knowing I could do them was good enough for me. I don't recall ever using beyond 170's while there after that....and that was still for rows only. I've never done anything else with above 125's. BP's of any kind, have never been a strong point for me.When I moved back, the gym I worked at got rid of dbells over 100, and banned DL's. The 24 Hour I switched to only had 125's, so I haven't done anything more than that for 15 years. I'm not even close to using those at this point.
