His signature poses were unbeatable at the time.he had great structure  and torso  to legs balanced to handle his size .his leg shape wasnt great or separation like others but his calves were insane and made his legs look more impressive in those poses

Really bad physique, right? Only came in second in two Olympias and won one. Won the Mr. America and Mr. Universe. In the 80's beat a who's who of the champs of the day.

Proving that pro bodybuilding results under the Weiders were political and often undeserved.

The Weiders ran pro bodybuilding like a communist country and Dickerson happened to be their flavor of the day for a while. There is absolutely no way that physique is worthy of the Mr. Olympia title.

Slightly decent?

I know you're a Levrone guy, but come one, man!  In that shot, Yates' biceps is more than "decent."  It was fucking huge from that angle.

Give credit where it is due.

the angle?  is a girl hot because she looks good in a certain angle on her instagram or is it just one decent pic?

same show without the "angle"

So if I looked over at the car parked next to me and saw the back of your head bouncing up and down on Goodrum's shaft does that mean you weren't sucking his dick because the angle was bad?

still waiting for you and others to find a good bicep shot of his arms outside of the one favorable angle pic

i mean if his arms are so good, there should be more pics right? ::)

The pose front double biceps like all poses is a total body pose, his arms like Haney before him were good not great but the overall body in the shot carried the pose, just like some others with great biceps can lose that pose. Its bodybuilding not a bicep competition.

You're moving the goalposts here Earl :)

First you say his arms are poor, now they're just "not great."

Angles?  From the front biceps, no, he didn't have the best.  However, that certainly doesn't negate the fact that:

-- They did look huge in more than that signature pose.  In 1993, they looked very good *anytime* he did a single-arm variation (two of which others posted);

-- Arms are more than biceps.  What about his forearms and triceps?

Poorest arms of any Olympia champ, I think you said?  No, not even close.  Not in '93, and that's the focus of this thread.  But if we're to open the discussion to all Olympians over the years, what about
Dickerson?  Zane?  Rhoden?  Even Ronnie had proportionately small arms at the 2002 Olympia.

If we want to talk the worst of torn-up arms, I would agree Yates is up there, especially in 1997.  But that's another topic.

Aside:  what year do you think Levrone's arms were his best?  His front biceps was never killer, either, but it was pretty wicked at the '94 Olympia.

Haney didnt have great arms, and Ronnies triceps weren't that great

his arms are poor, sorry i gave the impression i was "moving the goalposts"

forearms are irrelevant, his triceps look excellent in side tricep but tiny in every other pose

i prefer Mr. Levrone's 92 shape because they were shredded, but they seemed to be at their biggest in 97 - 98, they were too big at the 98 O which made him look unbalanced

true but his arms are the reason he loses the shot to somebody like ronnie

i think he lost the pose more often than not after 93

I agree, his waist and bicep tear effected the pose post 93 fortunately he still had enough overall to win, with the rear poses both relaxed round and muscular pulling him through. I still think he won the olympias, well he just wasn't beaten. Front and side it was a contest, but from the rear it was men against boys, from sitting close to stage just behind the judging table his condition made others look off, especially from the rear. From that close there was no way he could be beaten from 15 to 20 feet back it was less apparent and his injuries were more obvious, up close his conditioning distracted you from what he was missing.

He wins the quarter turns and 5 out of 7 mandatory poses.
