Bodybuilding peaked as a sport that year with that physique he himself never matched that shape again as injuries and his waist blew out, but its never been beaten not even close to any of us who have been fortunate to have seen both Dorian and yates win Olympias at their peak. Ronnie was alien like huge, but Yates in 93 had everything, photos never did his physique justice.

I remember Yates said he didn't change anything about his program from 92 to 93, only he didn't overdiet in 93.
I think his first win in 92 probably removed some mental blocks too, a lot of times wins cause more wins.

agreed the key word being had everything and IMO the main word being conditioned everywhere with balance too boot in 1993 he was untouchable and arguably too this day the bench mark in the total package as Mr Olympia bar no one.

I've seen this written about Yates more than any other bodybuilder - that seeing him live gave a completely different impression to seeing him in photos or on film.

Saw him in shape at the 96 Olympia and his first NOC win, and guest posing at 305.

He looked like a cartoon character live.

In fact, Dorian probably had the worst biceps in Olympia history. Kinda sad for a sport based on someone saying ‘Make a muscle’ and flexing your bicep for them for $20.

Agreed. Along with abs/thighs, front lat spread and the 4 quarter turns. His rear lat spread is neck and neck with Coleman. Really just a matter of preference.

Chris Dickerson won the Olympia with a bicep-less physique that couldn’t win a state championship.

The way Dorian posed should be a lesson to all bodybuilders his ability to hide weaknesses and enhance strengths was imo best of all time of top competitors....

Always said it, Dorian was a masterful poser. He didn't get any credit for that since he didn't gyrate and dance like a total homo.

Really bad physique, right? Only came in second in two Olympias and won one. Won the Mr. America and Mr. Universe. In the 80's beat a who's who of the champs of the day.
