I work shoulder to shoulder with police. I absolutely take the officers side in the Green case in Detroit. Cops have less than a second to make decisions that determine if they or their coworkers live to go home. This in of itself requires we give them some margins for error (even though I believe the two officers were fully justified in this case). I am sure Abraham has made mistakes in his profession. I doubt they cost anyone their life. When mistakes have such a high cost it would require a prudent person to use an over abundance of caution. That’s why it’s justified if an officer has me stopped under suspicion and I disobey his commands and reach in my pants he can and should shoot me dead. Period. I teach my children to respect and obey police as should every red blooded American.
What the Dems are doing is creating a no-win environment for police. It is the equivalent of fighting a war and jailing every soldier that accidentally kills a non combatant in a war zone. In such a situation you will absolutely lose the war, which we are now doing.
Further exasperating the problem is you are driving all the QUALIIFIED people out of the profession. The men and women that are talented are not looking at a career in law enforcement now. They have the initiative and ability to thrive in any profession. You know who will still pursue a career as a cop? The power hungry zealots that egos drive them to acquire a badge. This problem will self perpetuate the entire policing profession into a much worse position than before.
