Listen to me, which you won't lol, plenty of people have gotten major anxiety from weed but can enjoy it at times. One bad experience doesn't mean that door is permanently closed.

You laugh but I think once you've accepted playing with opiates period it's all open to you. It's "all the same" as said above. You like me would resist actual heroin because we associate it with those scabby nightmares we see sometimes. But really what's different? I would like to try some middle easter "opium dipped hash" or opium tea or smoked opium. Let's say I was traveling in an area where that was part of culture sometimes. Wouldn't you?
