Greg did a signing at a local supplement shop when I was running our university Nutrition, Health & Bodybuilding club.  The shop sponsored/supported our club so we had some volunteers and had a chance to meet and hang out for a bit after the event along with one of his sisters.

He had two blocks of ice with fans blowing on him the whole time, and he couldn't make it up more than 3-4 steps without having to take a second or two to collect himself.  We were the same height, and I was hovering around 245lbs and fairly lean.  He dwarfed me by so much that I have no doubt he was 350lbs+.

He was a very pleasant and friendly person to us, and his sister was wonderful.

Ronnie was 270 at this year's Olympia.

At 400 pounds, that'd make Kovacs a full 50% BIGGER than Ronnie.

I doubt he ever hit 350.

Did Kovacs ever really weigh over 400lbs?

He was massive. It's too bad no one got to him before it was too late.

True freak and looks much more impressive when you are jacked and tall. So many bodybuilders are shortarses and have complexes about their height which is why they want to be “huge” in other ways.

Did you think to yourself then,  this isn't healthy?

He went over four at one point.

One time I stood beside him when he was weighing himself.

He was closing in on 390.

With abs. Albeit with a gigantic waist, as well.

He made EVERYONE look puny.

Knew Greg. He was an acquaintance.

Ate meals with him and such.

Lots of misinformation in this thread.

The man, though, WAS enormous. Like, difficult to believe enormous.

His shoes were always entirely mashed-looking because of the extreme weight.

On one particular evening him, Nasser and myself went to a restaurant. The manager had to find a log bench for Greg. When he had sat on a regular chair he barely returned standing before it broke beneath him.

El Sonbaty was around 320 and was dwarfed by Kovacs.
Great story Fortress - thanks for sharing!

I once broke a chair at a restaurant. We were having dinner with my wife and her parents. We arrived,  sat down for about a minute, and all of a sudden I was on the floor. I was furious. The chair had slender steel legs. I weighed around 290 lbs. I also broke one of my mom's antique wooden chairs. She told me to sit on it. I told her it would break but she insisted. My father even yelled at her that it wouldn't hold. The chair lasted a few seconds.

My parents neighbour died in a similar "overweight" problem. The gentleman was about 240lbs, toilet cracked while he was sitting on it. Severed his saphenous arteries. Died before he could crawl for help.

It must have been a "shitty" toilet!  ;D I never broke a toilet - even at my heaviest of 310 lbs. I did break a toilet seat though, it was a flimsy plastic seat.  ;D

Those ads were really something. 3 of us bought one tub of cell tech just to try it because it was so expensive. Nothing happened, who would have thought lol.

Cell tech actually gave me a quick 15lbs, probably water weight because it faded away once discontinued. 2nd generation Cell-tech made nauseous and nearly fainted a couple of times after working out. Trashed it.
