I am not a (UGH!) fan of his but I think Bumstead looks better than any other contestants in this class.




What is odd is that Bumstead is said to weigh 230lbs. in contest shap.  Contrast that with Arnold at 225lbs. for the '75 Olympia.

They competed at a higher bodyfat percentage and they didn't do diuretics the way they do today.  Arnold has a much healthier look. If you look at Bumstead pre contest photos, he has this look.

Not at the '75 Olympia he wasn't.  He was reported to weigh in a 225lbs.  He looked nothing like he did in '74.

There is a video interview of Colemen where he is shown a photo of Arnold and one of him and he says that there is nothing like Arnold today and that Arnold with their "nutrition" would easily destroy him and Dorian.  Haney was an hilarious "NOoooo!  No way!" against Arnold.

Given Arnold's unstoppable drive and his genuine genetics  he would have been monstrous with a waistline  far smaller than any of the competitors of the last few decades.  There is a photo of him bulked up to what is said to be 250lbs. and doing his trademarked "Mantis" pose.   No one beats that before or since. 

I call it "Maessthetics" and again, no one has it like Arnold did.

I do not think well of Arnold morally or politically but in bodybuilding and with drugs, he is the undisputed best ever.    Steve Reeves is the no drug all time best but again, there is nothing like Arnold and he is better than Reeves and unless one of Arnold's sons loses his mind and Arnold "helps" him, we will not witness anything even close to this again.
