i believe it adds a little more stress on your upper body opposed to the regular foot on the ground push ups...

Might also consider Hindu pushup's or Drve Bombers. If you do incline push-up than you may want to do them with the hands resting on two boxex (benches, etc) for a better stretch and influence on the chest. Good Luck.
