12 month moving average inflation rate currently stands at 4.3% (http://inflationdata.com/inflation/Consumer_Price_Index/CPI.asp).
If the prize money at last year's O was $500,000, the increase would have to be $21,500 just to keep up with inflation.
But I wouldn't expect a meathead like Bob to be able to wrap his mind around this concept. The IFBB kicks him $6k and he actually thinks he's ahead of the game.
Bob, will you consider putting into motion a proposal for a FLAT PERCENTAGE raise in Olympia prize money each year?
The inflation rate is currently 4.3%, as Goatboy pointed out. If such a measure was approved you would secure a 20k+ raise in prize money each year. And it's very easy to justify - you don't have to ask for outrageous numbers - just enough to keep the prize money levels at the cost of living.
What do you think? This year you got 6,000 more than last year, but that was still what, like a 3% loss, if you factor in the inflation rate? (someone do the math for me).
Thoughts, Bob? Is this something you'd consider submitting? I am sure getting athlete approval would be a breeze for this one
