Read the label on the new creatine for any other things that might be in there. Of course not all labels tell the truth, but start there anyway. Look at the deverly sysytem that it uses and see what is used differently, if any, from your old brand. If your doubling up the intake at the same time than that may be a problem. It should be spaced out during the day. Taking any new med's, supplements or herbs lately? That may have an effect.
Probably a main cause would be that coming competition. Most people feel a little anxious before the big event. Might try positive visualization of how well you are going to do in the contest while lying in bed.. Or some relaxing methods along with the visualization can work well. Good Luck.
