Jay is now the spokesman for the IFBB. He assumed that role with his win. His message? If you want to win the Olympia and fulfill your dreams then do what I did and stay with the IFBB because that is the only way you can win it.

DeMilia was an IFBB man for eons and it is a pity they let a good promoter go. We will see how things develop but the Olympia is still THE contest to win and the silence at the press conference where NOT ONE competitor supported Lee is sobering. No one is risking his chances in the Olympia. End of story so far.

....first off, Lee....you're too funny. Just cause you can't win the Mr O, don't slag on Jay for sticking up for his federation. I'm sure you'll win EVERY damn PDI show from now till it fades into obscurity. The PDI will always be a second tier organization....I mean, how many big leagues do you have in ANY sport? ....ONE. The rest are just second best, and if you wanna compete for second best, then go ahead and compete in the PDI.

I would give the PDI the time of day if it was ANY different than the PDI, but their judging criteria is the SAME as the IFBB...just on a lesser quality of physique. So until Phil Heath goes to the PDI.....the day a TRULY good physique wins a PDI show over what they have already displayed as a trophy winning physique, that'll be the day I pay attention...ie, not some bloated mass monster taking the top prize. And that WILL happen, the day Lee decides not to compete.

Secondly, 240, the PDI has no impact on the IFBB. Jay was just saying what was on his mind. That's all...and now that he's on top, all the power to him. The rest of the years show's can be about symmetry and all that, but the Mr O will always be about the biggest and most ripped. I've gotten over it....have you?

so the man just made history - the 11th man to be called mr olympia, dethroned an 8 time mr olympia, after years of trying (coming in 2nd 4 times)

why does he even care about the pdi?

This wasn't an IFBB deal. AMI promotes the Olympia. AMI distributes press passes. AMI prints Flex and Muscle and Fitness, promotion of the PDI is taking money out of Pecker's pocket, so not a big surprise.
If you going to point fingers, try and point them at the correct parties.

The IFBB is not GOD or lightning would have struck the NOC instead of lousy physiques!

Influence Yes, I agree. But it just boils down to a sound business decision from AMI. If the PDI fails, it is more money in their pocket. So why wouldn't they punish those who think otherwise? It just so happens that this parallels the IFBB wishes as well. I am a Bodybuilding fan and the best of the best will be in the IFBB, and that is what I want to pay to see, so I support them.
The PDI has nothing to offer, damn most of the people on stage wouldn't even make the top ranks of NABBA, WABBA, NPC or whatever. If the arrogance of the PDIdiots tuned it down and stopped calling it a pro league I might even give them a closer look but outside of a small handful, nobody on that stage was PRO caliber.

Of course the IFBB is worried thats why they talk shit about the PDI. I can see some pros coming over to the PDI once they dont get the placing they want/deserve. I didn't hear the speech but someone had to tell Jay to say that shit, otherwise why would he?
