STella, I'm assuming you're on a P IV, and I agree with Al-Gebra, you shouldn't be slow at all.
I think you might have picked up a virus or something. You might want to visit Trend Micro and run an online virus check.  http://www.trendmicro.com/hc_intro/default.asp and see if that helps.

virus is a possibilty.  That's why i asked if she ran a firewall, router etc.  Viruses can really kill a puter.  I figured she would be running norton or Mcaffee though

I do/did but sometimes i find i get wrapped up with the crap over at that V board...the guys/gals? are mean as hell, but now that i understand this is "just the internet" i enjoy most of it...plus i do a bit of sex talk just for fun .
