i never watch MTV, hardly watch tv at all. so im never subjected to the garbage that they are spamming people with. anyway, at a bar today they had music videos playing continuously and i was forced to watch/listen to the crap the public adores.
i was horrified. i have decided that 3 bands in particular that i saw tonight should be tortured and put to death. they are as follows:

missy elliot
green day
gwen stefani(she was ok but the song/video 'Hollaback Girl' has earned her a death sentence)

its stuff like this that makes me genuinely wish for some sort of global war or natural cataclysm to thin the ranks a bit and reintroduce human beings to natural selection.

Music is like bodybuilding.  One person's favorite will make someone else puke.  I like progressive jazz and some of the farout stuff will drive people out of the house, where I dig it.  So I must abstain from voting in a poll that has too many variables.

drea theater certainly does not belong in the list. you maynot like all their songs but they are without a doubt respectable as musicians. i personally do not listen to jazz, but i respect them as great musicians nevertheless.

what im talking about here is the garbage with NO REDEEMABLE/RESPECTABLE FACTORS AT ALL....the stuff that
1. takes absolutely no talent or originality to create
2. takes absolutely no skill beyond a normal person level to perform
3. does not contribute to music or society in any positive way but rather erodes society by promoting negative lifestlyes, glamorizes stupidity, spreads ignorance.
4. is created solely for commercial purposes, where a 'song' is designed to be a hit single at a particular time, or when a 'song' is designed around its own music video.

these are the ones that need to be killed, not just any old band you dont get into.

Dream theatre, although may not be what you like, featured John Petrucci!!!!!!!!  He is easily in the top 5 of technical guitarists of all time.



And Green Day's "American Idiot" album was one of the most well put together albums of all time, and certainly of the 21st century.
