ND's hypocrisy is incredible:

most of the reasons that he does not think Jay is olympia material are clearly evident in his hero, Dorian Yates:

uncanny resemblence.

And both blocky white guys owned Coleman lmfao

THat soletti calves in the 2006 pics are so funny ;D. I'm weighing 195 pds and have bigger calves than Coleman :D
I Really doubt that.

Are you implying that Vince looks better than Ronnie, or that Vince has been better at maintaining his previous best form with age?  If so I would agree, but it's not that hard to maintain your previous best when you were only at Vince's level, which is a far cry from Ronnie's level.

Stop comparing Ronnie to himself and to perfection, and start comparing him to the rest of the competition.

Oh I did compare Ronnie to Jay and Jay won ! lol and the lame excuse Camp-Coleman was claiming is Ronnie was being judged against his 2003 form if that was the case he would have lost in 2004 plain & simple .

No one expected Ronnie to be 2003 they just expected him to be a LOT better than what he showed up in 2006

I would have had Ronnie winning the Olympia in pictures I saw, but as for the Grand Prix shows.  :-X  It was 2002 GNC form all over again - but Jay was off too, but I still think looked clearly better in some pictures.  Jay's back was far better at the Olympia though.

2006 Mr Olympia wasn't close in reality or in the judges eyes

What the judges think is irrelevant.  It is easily debatable Ronnie should have won the 2006 Olympia.  The only area where Jay was not even close to Ronnie was from the back.  Everything else WAS close.

LMFAO what the judges think is irrelevant , get serious their pick is ALL THAT MATTERS fans opinions don't , Jay was better conditioning and simply looked better in most of the mandatory poses , give Ronnie the side chest and front double biceps , Jay beat him in every other pose with perhaps a push in the most muscular .

I would have front lat would go to Ronnie as well.  His taper was superior and taper really makes that pose.

maybe a push .

As you can see, Ronnie was close with Jay in some areas and arguably better.  For example, it would not be unreasonable to say Ronnie could have those poses.  It's up for debate.

I think the only area where there would be no debate to speak of would be the back poses and the abs and thigh.  But back poses needed to be further broken down.  For example, you can't ignore glutes and hamstrings in that pose.  Jay had the better abs, but his taper was weak in that pose, kind of reminiscent of Gunter's lack of a taper.

The one way I reconcile Jay's victories is when I see Ronnie and Jay hitting the back shots.  Otherwise, it could still be debated in my book.  Had Ronnie come in with his best ever back, I would say he would have won.  As it was, this did not happen and Ronnie lost, but I still contend it was close.

Now the grand prix shows are another story!!

Jay was close to Ronnie in the poses Ronnie seemingly won.. it wasn't Ronnie absolutely destroyed Jay in the poses it was he had an edge , but Ronnie's conditioning was well off , Jay accumulated more points to seperate himself from Ronnie and was a clear cut winner.

Jay is the Columbu of the new millenium. They'll tread water with him and others till someone great shows up.

The more interesting thing is why they did this to Coleman onstage vs. Yates allowed to win in virtually the same bad condition-what went on, who did they talk to, or not.

you keep forgetting that dorian was the hardest guy on stage and in the best condition of anyone in the lineup.  wide waste or not.  cant same the same for coleman this year.  he's lucky he got 2nd.

also, its not like dorian tore his lat and ruined his calves or midsection.  unlike coleman who has ruined his body by tearing his best muscles like his back and biceps.

Oh really? Ronnie tore his biceps??? Interesting....

You're full of shit! I challenge you to find even one only pic where his BICEPS look torn.

You can make a case for his triceps or his lat (and still they are not torn) but the BICEPS  ::)....

Yes, I can agree with this.  Jay blew Ronnie away from the back, but the poses I would have given to Ronnie were close.

Ronnie may not have been as dry as Jay, but his amazing upper body hardness really caught my eyes and especially his arms.  However, Jay's abs and quads were so deeply cut I can see why the judges gave it to him.

It is at the grand prix shows where I will be the first to say Ronnie was way off.  Reminiscent of the 2002 GNC!

Ronnie's back still thick as a craphouse though...

You continue to discredit yourself with continued application of your arbitrary judging criteria, which conveniently overweighs the attributes you like in Yates. It's been pointed out to you over and over again, and you keep pretending it doesn't matter because you say so.

Bottom line despite your delusions: Yates looked like shit in '97 and with an IFBB with integrity and without agendas, would've been beaten just as Coleman was.

You're about the only one i've seen on getbig who doesn't already know this; congrats.  ;D

Ronnie wanted to break Haney's record of eight in a row.  So he needs to start again next year and win until 2015.

Well he did say he'd be around a lot longer than anyone would want him to be lol
