Why do you wanna take this stuff anyhow?  There are no drugs that are free of sides, this crap might do one thing and then it will also do another.  i would go with what big O says that cat is a doctor or something and really does know his sh*t.  have read that Viagra blows away that stuff anyhow.  If you are looking for mood elevators there are plenty of them out there.  I believe O said that dostinex was a dopamine agonist, you cant alter your brain chemistry without opening another can of worms. marble also dispelled the whole prolactin thing, its not the problem.

Do wish Big o would come around again.

Freaker is the man for this topic...he is an actual doctor and he uses the stuff himself...he mentioned in a thread last wk that he'll be using it as part of his next cycle.

No offense taken.  Given the scope of my practice, I would not have experience using Dostinex in any of my patients (for that matter, I suppose I wouldn't have experience using test, tren dbol, A bombs or deca in them either  :).  As an MD, and as a doc who has actually published numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and written chapters in some of the most well-known textbooks in orthopaedic surgery, I do have the ability to critically analyze the medical literature, though, and I do have a good working knowledge of endocrinology.  This knowledge is admittedly fueled more by my own personal interest in AAS than by any class I took in medical school. I recently did a very exhaustive literature search on trenbolone as well as on dostinex, and really came up with nothing of any substance at all.  Certainly nothing that demonstrates that prolactin elevation should be a significant problem with the use of tren, or even deca for that matter.

In the end, also, how we respond to different AAS as INDIVIDUALS will vary greatly.  Some love deca, some love EQ...some love dbol and some hate it...for some a dose of arimidex at one dose is fine while others need higher dosages at higher frequencies, etc.  That's why I recommend such basic cycles to newbies.  If you throw too much into the mix, you really don't know which compounds are responsible for which sides that you are experiencing, beit gyno or depressed libido or whatever.  It's only when you learn how you respond to different AAS, at different dosages, and with different ancillaries that you can tell how you as an individual respond to this stuff.

It may be prudent to have a small amount of Dostinex on hand during a tren cycle, just like you should have Nolva on hand for early signs of gyno, but only take it if you start to see sides occurring.  Collectively, a forum such as getbig is really the best way for us to share our experiences with these compounds.

Yes Freak you are right about that, as I knew your medical training would have not involved drugs such as these.  As I always thought you are very smart about lots of things, not just hammering bodys back together  :)

Dostinex (Cabergoline) is in a class of compounds called Dopamine receptor agonists. Their chief role, although people use these compounds for other ailments, is to reduce circulating prolactin levels from Pituitary disorders. If a person really needs one of these compounds then by all means they work really well at doing what they are designed to do.

The bodybuilding community has taken this compound as well as Bromocriptine Mesylate and used them for a non existant side from two very prevalent compounds. Many individuals claim that taken Tren and Deca elevate prolactin levels which in all actuality the opposite is usually true. Androgens in almost all cases lower prolactin levels and higher than normal levels of Estrogen raise prolactin.

I don't know if I am a direct cause of this or not. Years ago on the old board I posted studies in relation to a certain Trenbolone compound raising prolactin levels. The compound was Synovex plus. The high estradiol concentration was the chief mechanism of action is this. I posted the full study and outlined why there was a lack of dopaminergic binding to the lactotrophs in the Anterior Pituitary region thus resulting in raised prolactin levels. The stalk was cut and excess prolactin was dumped into the portal system. I hope this will die here soon but if it doesn't oh well.

People blame the dreaded "Tren Gyno" or the dreaded "Deca Gyno" on elevated prolactin levels when in all actuality gynecomastia from these two compounds come from a different mechanism of action. Since these compounds are both 19Nor compounds, the aggravation of gynecomastia is caused from elevated Estren formation, indirect aggravation of the ER not yet fully understood or just the body trying to maintain in homeostasis by converting more androgenic nuclei to estrogenic nuclei via the aromatase enzyme.

In most cases the most prevalent side when taking a dopamine agonist is nausea, headaches and dizziness.  Many people take Dostinex to lose weight. Many experts claim this miracle compound influences the Ghrelin Leptin pathway when in all actuality you just plain feel like shit. If you feel crappy trust me you don't eat. Less food equals less calories which in turn mean weight loss.

I do not recommend taking a dopamine agonist for anything other than a Pituitary disorder. To each his own though.

Sorry if I didn't explain myself further. I thought at the time I had a post recently that explained it rather well in my opinion of course.

Big O I remember your post on the old board.  At the time I believe someone had gotten gyno from a tren/Deca or a Tren only cycle.  At the time it was a pretty rare occurrance (still is I guess) and you had posted a couple of theories and possible ways to combat it.

The prolactin levels were one of the theories, but I believe that it was the same result as now, kind of an unknown.  Stuff I pawn off as "hey, you're shoving hormones in your body that aren't supposed to be there, shit is bound to go sidways."

Big O I am going to call you this week I haven't talked to you in months....got some interesting "on the hush-hush" stuff to tell you...

Interesting....

So any Tren induced gyno is strictly due to increased estrogen formation due to the body's need for homeostasis.  I wish there was some degree of elaboration detailing how this aggravation of the ER begins and what the true mechanism of action is.

I see how the old Synovex contributed to the belief that Tren caused gyno, that estradiol was added for the purpose of bloating up cattle.  Only a fool would buy the Tren Acetate/Estradiol combo pellets.

I haven't experienced the "lousy feeling" you associate with Dostinex when I've used it for sexual purposes, though that may differ with individual based on genetics.  I do notice that it does allow for quicker recovery between orgasms, though which is why it's being marketed as a sexual aid drug now.

My body responds well to high levels of estrogen and have not had the need to take an estrogen block even when taking 800mgs a week of test & 30mg a day of dbol... However when taking a modest cycle of 500mg a week of test and 75mg a day of tren, i began developing gyno, promptly stopped taking the tren during that cycle and the issue resolved itself. Then after some research a couple years back about prolactin inhibiting effects of cabergoline i decided to give it a try at .5mg 2x a week and try another cycle of test and tren, in which i began developing tren gyno again, so i upped the dose to .5mg EOD of cabergoline which seemed to cut down on the development of tren gyno, but did not stop it completely at which point i stopped the tren altogether and the issue resolved itself yet again. As far as the cabergoline goes, It did not make me dizzy or ill, but it did taste like Shiiiiiiiiiit.... So to this day i have a love/hate relationship... i love tren for its incredible effects, but i hate it for what it does to my body... i wish my body tolerated it well so i could take it again...

If cabergoline solved your gyno, then it was prolactin induced, although there are arguments out there which state Tren induced gyno isn't caused by prolactin at all.

Until there is intensive research in to the mechanism behind it, we'll never know for sure.

If you have that opinion, you haven't been here all that long and I don't remember you.

When have you given anyone advice that was pertinent to any discussion?
