They actually had two F-16s with engines running, sitting on the runway at Andrews AFB, 12 miles from the Pentagon, on 9/11. 

Unfortunately, due to a "failure of imagination", these planes sat idle for 48 minutes as flight 77 approached.  yes, they watched it.  yes, they requested permission from NORAD and the VP to launch and shoot that fucker down.  But, NORAD and the VP declined.  Seems after seeing the two WTC planes hit, they never could have imagined that the approaching hijacked plane had anything bad in mind.

dude, on 9/12/2001, Andrews AFB changed their website.  They took off all the parts that said they had no fighter jets.  They just removed it all from the website.

I love it when people believe that was just a coincidence.  in the wake of the biggest attack in 60 years, right in their backyard, in which they oddly didn't act... we're supposed to believe it was just routine web update day?

I know it's frustrating... but there is no other way.  There are things that were done here which were completely independent of NORAD.

NORAD called off the dogs.  Planes that were initially in kill mode at 1875 mph were turned around.  This was after all the tests, when the only planes on the grid were the two hijacked ones.  planes were sent to sea to circle slowly and wait.  Al Q didn't do this.

PENTAGON did not shoot down the plane, despite its very nice missile defense system.  A plane with no military transponder - especially one that they see coming 48 minutes prior - will be shot down.  This system did not fire.

yes, those patsy Al Q pricks hijacked a plane.  But they were physically incapable of doing the above things.  I really WISH it was just those 19 guys.  I do.  But it was not.

Most of the authors are actually conservatives who are outraged at the way constitutional rights have been reduced.  Of course there are the Bush haters, and I don't listen to them.  I don't like Bush because he was warned about 911 and he did nothing.  Then he refused an investigation.  Then he refused to testify under oath or in public.  Then he went to war when it wasn't necessary.

It's not about liberal or conservatives.  I seriously hate far left liberals.  They whine, they want welfare, they won't execute a killer, they basically want to be taken care of.  I can't stand them.  I hate hilary's guts.  I seriously see her as a major manager of people who could give a rats' ass about anything except her own power.

On economic issues I am probably 120% more conservative than you.  Thats why I think its a damn shame were spending $333,531,653,580+ in Iraq so far.  So Bush and Company can give out no bid contracts to friends.

IMO, the reason that the repubs will lose congress is this large group of Republicans who cannot agree with the actions and policies of the far-right neoconservatives who lie and do whatever it takes to get into war.

Republicans are starting to realize - it is very possible to love your party, to embrace its beliefs - while at the same time disagreeing with extreme actions of some of its members. 

People are scared to talk right now, because those who control the White house also control the majority of what the media prints.  Does anyone doubt we'll have more 911 insiders coming forward on jan 21, 2008?
