The truly best Olympia is really Sergio Oliva but the one who used all of his tools to the best is Arnold and therefore got my vote for being a champion and not only looking like one.

i would sya it is a toss between ronnie coleman and jay..ronnie coleman dominanted this sport for 8 years and each year ronnie came in looking bigger and better..this guy set the bar so high that won't be reached by any one.jay cutler should also be considered the greatest mr olympia cuz after 22yrs of stalemate ,cutler finally beats a reigning mr olympia.and the matter of fact that jay beat ronnie fair and square makes it even more impressive...long live jay and ronnie

seriously.

if Jay was as great as some on the board hype him up to be, he would have beat Ronnie a few years ago - eg in 2003.

In order for Jay to be considered as great as he is by some, he had to beat the best when they are at their best.

that has never happened.

the reason that I don't think that Jay beating Ronnie is not all that impressive is that its not like Jay has improved all that much and became good enough to beat Ronnie when Ronnie is in shape.

ronnie came up through the ranks, getting recognition in 96 but not really peaking until 1998 when he improved enough to start to kick ass.

On the other hand, Jay peaked in 2001, and in 2006 showed up with a superwide waist, hardly any abs compared to before and a back that is still nothing to write home about.

and yet he won because Ronnie showed up looking horrible (but not bad considering most pros would have retired long ago).

the two are totally different situations.

Jay would have eared the hype if either he beat Ronnie when Ronnie was in shape or if his "new and improved" 2006 form would obviously have beat Ronnie when he was in his prime.

but that is not the case.

no one in their right mind believes that 2006 Jay could even come close to Ronnie at his best.

Exactly, Jay would have not even sniffed Ronnie's jock strap when he was in his thirties. Ronnie of 1996 would have won this show. Hell, Jay has about as much genetic gifts as a GE fridge. Doz had awesome genetics; look at 1993 for confirmation of his greatness. Ronnie was absolutely insane; best ever at his prime. I would surmise that if he would have shown up in the shape he was in for the last GP show; he would have won. Unfortunately for him, he was admittedly off and deserved to lose. However, he should have beaten Jay and the judges gifted him that last show because they did not want their newly crowned Mr. O to taste defeat so soon. Politics is a bitch. Ronnie number one; Dorian number two and then Haney or Arnold.
