Agree? Actions of "an extreme sliver" of Repub Party have profoundly divided US

DES MOINES, Iowa (Reuters) - Former President Bill Clinton told Iowa's Democratic Party faithful on Saturday that the actions of "an extreme sliver" of the Republican Party have backfired and "profoundly divided" the country.

"We've got a big responsibility. Forget about 2008. Forget about the politics. Just go out and find somebody and look them dead in the eye and say 'You know, this is not right'...This is America," Clinton said. "We can do better and this year, it's a job that Democrats have to do alone."

More than 3,500 Iowa Democrats paid $100 each to attend the fund-raising banquet that kicked off with Clinton's speech. About 50 people paid $10,000 per couple to attend a private reception with Clinton beforehand.


Republicans, who control the White House and Congress, Clinton charged "paint themselves as pure and the rest of us who don't agree with them as stained" in order to divide the country and stay in power.

"People know things are out of whack, that fundamentally the order of, the rhythm of public life and our common life as Americans has been severely disturbed," he said.

Clinton criticized the tax cuts President George W. Bush pushed through Congress and urged Democrats running for office this year to promise to correct the imbalance -- and promise not to raise taxes in the process.

"You cannot blame the entire Republican party for this reason. The entire government of the United States, the Congress, the White House and increasingly the courts for the last six years has been in the total control not of the Republican party but of the most ideological, the most right wing, the most extreme sliver of the Republican Party."

I can't stand Clinton - I mean seriously, I don't like him one bit.

but this totally mirrors what I said a few days back - that I am one of many repubs who doesn't like this small group who has hijacked our party.

It's almost like ol' Bill WANTS to tell us about 911, about the small group of neocons...

What about the New Left highjacking the Democratic party? The ultra liberal socialist big money branch that has taken control of what was once the blue collar working party. That PC crowd, who want's more of the big brother government control and less of the middle America value system of doing it on your own and less government. NeoCon's (new conservatives) is just another label for mostly Jewish intelluctuals who were formerly Democrates and are now Republicans. The New Left considers them a most dangerious element of the Republican party.

As we all know, there is a battle going on with-in the Democrat party for future control. This warring began when Clinton was first elected to office. Watch the in fighting between Hillary (supported by the New Left big money base), Kerry (north eastern old money power establishment) and other divisions of the party to take control and run there person for president. Gore is on the sidelines but I would doubt very much if he were to run again. Rumor has it he has been under heavy med's, even when he was in office as vice president. Emotional problems and he's not the brightest bulb in the political lamp.



HedgeHog: I believe Sweden had just had a vote and a new party system is coming into power. More on the lines of the most of the rest of Europe. Not so much cradel to the grave government security anymore? Reading that Sweden has a serious Muslim problem, with the violent rapes going up four time as much as normal. Street muggings/robbery's are at an alarming rate, even at daylight time. Most of these crimes never reach the new's media (just like in the USA). Some Muslims are quoted as saying the Swedish are stupid, weak and cowardly. Taking money and things away from them is too easy. Muslim's  immigrants seem to have the same social benefits as the citizens of Sweden. Any truth to this? Just wondering. Good Luck.

There is not a new party system in Sweden. Same multiparty system as usual.

However, there has been an election, and the liberals won the majority, while the social democrats and their two supporting parties, lefties and environmentalists, lost their majority.

Rape crimes are up 4 percent I believe, not four times. Street muggings and robberies have not been going up significantly.

IMO, we have a serious Muslim problem, in that we allow Muslims to start schools and to exclude their children from gym class. Also, we allow Muslims to dress their young girls in burkas and cloths.

This, to me, is a great failure.

Also, quite a few Muslim immigrants are not speaking proper Swedish, despite having being in Sweden for over 10 years.

The crime rate and unemployment rate is higher in this social group as well.

So there are problems.

But nothing like what media tries to make it out to be.

And you don't get mugged in Sweden. It's not anything like what Fox News tried to make it look like in their infamous visit to Malmö, or "Malmoe", as they incorrectly named it.

In that Fox News clip, the reporter claimed that a police car always had to assist the paramedics into the ghetto, they refused to go there otherwise.

I personally called the Paramedics and asked about their routines, and they told me that they would only have a police backup if there WAS AN ONGOING CRIME. Just like everywhere else, I guess.

I even called the Police Station to double check, and they told me the exact same thing.

Actuall HedgeHog, I read that information from a couple of  Swedish news source about a month ago.  Sorry, not sure of the source just relating what I recalled. Good to hear Sweden is not going the way of France and the Lowlands, for now but give her time. Many parts of Europe do have a problem. Hard to get any relieable new source from the liberial media in  the USA. I find Fox the most secure of news and information outlets. Of course with any news outlets you are going to have to watch with a cautious eye, Fox included. CNN is beyond bias with their New Left liberal finacial support. The have been caught making up new and event stories time after time. And only report half of a news story with their own slanted view. And MSNBC is a joke. Fox news leads the ratings with a wide lead. Meaning more Americans trust that new's service than all others, for better or worse.. MSNBC has deep money problems. CNN also is lossing money. I know CNN is big in Eupope with their dish service, friends have told me that.

If you think the Muslim's are a problem than you should live in SOCal for awile. Than you would see a forthcoming major decline in the core structure of a government. California is well on it's way to becoming a third world blunder. And Governor Arnold is not backing up what he said he would do when running for office, about the overwhelming negative influence of illegals. The social, heath, crime, educational systems are breaking down from the over burden of way too many non citizens who expect way too many services and benefits that should go to US citizens.
