No the fastest hand award goes to Cassius Clay when he beat Liston with an invisible jab.

Can't believe I actually agree with alexx.  The phantom punch has to be the fastest.

Yeah but so was Foreman, and Ali put him to sleep.

Forgive me, I don't know boxing particularly well, but I do know Foreman punched like a tree trunk was hitting you.
no....here...watch this fight and just study tyson and how he moves and his mind set....hes a fucking raging bull.  i cant see any human being being able to defeat the man in this fight...    god himself would have had some trouble laying his hands on tyson this night:

I saw Mike training at the alladin when i was in vegas, he misses at least two scheduled days a week, due to his raging coke crack habit, dont believe it, me either till i finally watched him train after a day off, Mike really opened up man almost crying, most people were touched me too a little till i realised hes coming down like a mofo, when i say open up both ways he pounded Fennech his trainer with the pads and then touched us all with another sob story, its sad i used to love the guy, i seriously hope he can get it together one day, props to him for dropping Cormier all those years ago, tough guy that he is ::)

yeah one can read between the lines with Tyson and realise that he is very close to ending his life...I wouldn't be surprised to see that on the news some day soon...He's been crying for help for some time...Actually i believe that the new media should be ashamed of themselves for looking the other way over this guy...They chalk it off like " he is just crazy ect" ....

The guy is not crazy...He is depressed...And depressed in a bad way...If he makes it 5 more years, it will be a miracle...

tyson will NOT fight in the ufc, k1, pride or any other mma. there he would be owned and he knows it.

he has zero lateral movement now and it will take about 5 seconds to tie him up.

having said that he would still do very well against stiffs. any pro boxer would and that includes the 'tomato cans'.

IF he actually gets a green light with this idea which i highly doubt, it will be a very smart move for tyson. he gets to make a lot of money basically masturbating which he always said that people would pay to watch him do.

i don't blame him one bit for wanting to cash in (although it's a little sad that he has to). he has already proved himself as a fighter 1000 fold so why on earth should he need to go back to pro fighting ie ufc, k1, pride, etc. especially since he's accomplished a million times what ANY of those fighters ever have.

btw, he would've killed the ali that foreman fought. he would have had him on the ropes within 3 (similar to foreman), but he is much more accurate and has a deadlier arsenal than foreman. where foreman just ripped away at ali's mid section with his wide flailing arm punches that ali could see coming from next week, tyson's punches were much shorter and more precise. he would have slammed rips to the body, uppercuts and hook combinations on ali that he wouldn't even see and he would have landed every one exactly where he wanted them to land.

i don't believe tyson necessarily hit harder than foreman but he was much more accurate and quicker than foreman and he always threw combinations to set up his next punch eg. body rips (to bring the elbows to the sides) then uppercuts straight up the now exposed centre column, pops the chin up then left hook to the now exposed chin. he was poetry in motion in his prime.

Wake up and dance an Umpa Lumpa Dance...Because there will not be any bout between you and Tyson. They must have some kind of filter to filter out all mentally challenged, too stupid or just delusional brats and you fit in all of those categories. There have to be some way to hold stupids like you to trying suicide via fighting him without any skill at all...and if there going to be some fights at all, what is your number on the waiting list? You will be 34723490867'th in that list, no matter what you do.

And if there going to be a bout between you two, don't bother to do any planning ahead of that day, because it is futile. You may go in the ring by walking, but they carry you out from there and ten count doesn't be enough for you, they have to count days...

Hypothetical I know, but do you think Ali at least have put up a good fight against Tyson?

Absolutely, but comparing champs to eachother like this is really kinda useless, although it is kind of fun.  ;D

Ali in his prime against Tyson in his prime would be a tight fight. My bet is win for Ali because he has will and skill. He did beat Foreman who was a monster of his time, and that wasn't easy thing to do. On the other hand, Mike has not ever been very clever fighter, so Ali could have out-wit him and win that way. Mike have all ways have that "one punch knock out"- skill, so that isn't easy fight for Ali by no means. I think Ali would win by points...

i think the ali that fought pre vietnam would have had a good chance.

he would have had tyson tied up in knots for a while for sure. his footwork and movement was that good.

the question would be whether a prime tyson would have cut off the ring and caught up with ali. i say he would have. i mean if henry cooper can catch ali with a left hook, prime tyson bloody well could have and it would have been a lot harder than ol enry's.

you have to take into account that a prime tyson was blistering fast. not as fast as 60's ali, but fast enough to catch up with ali. at this point does a 60's ali manage to tie tyson up, upper cut and push him off. ali's upper cut wouldn't have bothered tyson much at all. it didn't bother frazier and tyson has a far better chin than frazier.

to be honest i don't see ali as having anything that will stop tyson from just weaving on in and beaking up ali's body which just slows him down and renders ali's amazing movement impotent.

as durable as ali proved to be i don't think he could have lasted against a tyson of, say, spinks fight calibre.

Unlikely-he was faster than Foreman but also a lot shorter with a lot less reach, and didn't do that well against a boxer like Ali (Buster Douglas). Nothing conclusive to suggest he was any better than Foreman, who was just as devastating.

Foreman might've been able to beat Ali if (1) he'd had the experience to know not to punch himself out, and (2) if the refs hadn't allowed Ali all the holding he got away with in big fights.

It wasn't the holding he did to Foreman it was the loosening of the ropes so he could use them to lean back and stay away from George blows.  He used the ropes like a genious.

No, the holding and rope-loosening went hand-in-hand as part of rope-a-dope, which really should have been disallowed and points deducted because it wasn't conducive to a fair or entertaining fight. It rewarded inacitivity; the fighter (Ali) who would lazily sit back on the ropes, hold most of the time and counterpunch occasionally while tying up the aggressor. It worked but is neither fair nor did it make for good fights to watch, other than on the occasions that the other fighter could get free of that nonsense for a minute.

Unfortunately, I don't think the other boxers or managers were sufficiently savvy to publicize or make a big deal of it to the point that the refs did anything to prevent it, and boxing itself didn't address it either. Basically it was like heavily defensive hockey involving the New Jersey Devils and their defensive trap-a lot of holding that diminished the ability to exercise geniune skill in the game. Ali got away with it in the same way that Jordan was accorded a different set of rules re: personal fouls.

I believe both you and Alexx should cash in on this oppurtunity.  You will gain much needed notoriety.   :D  Maybe both of you should contact Marcus Avellan and fight Kimbo Slice first.  Kimbo is looking for more bareknuckle fights.   :)
