Rusty has always been one of the best posers in the business and didn't realize he had a posing DVD out!

Good posing is truly an art and can turn a smaller mediorce bodybuilder into a giant killer.

I had never heard of Rusty until last year when I saw the NY Pro.  I couldn't believe how smooth his posing was.  it looked like art.  Compared to a guy like Ronnie, who bumbles across the stage, trying not to fall down, you really see where BBing no longer has the theatrical selling point it used to, in its champions.

Thanks!  I personally think that the posing routine is where you set yourself apart.  Most string together mandatories...(yawn)  I want to inspire as Mentzer, Zane, Corney and Arnold inspired me.  One of my favorite moments was after a prejudging as I walked to my car with my wife and a group of people in unison yelled..."Mentzer LIVES!!"    I could have placed dead last and I would have gone home happy.

I actually thought Hans posed pretty classic himself.

Yes, posing is underrated. Rusy looks like a good poster, however you need more than good posing to win a show.

LOL, I haven't competed yet but when I do I hope to bring something special to the posing round.

No doubt. There are so many little things that can make or break a pose. I haven't seen Rusty's DVD but he probably talks about a few of them.

i will say this, you DEFINITELY deserved higher than 5th, that was ridiculous.

5th place seems to be the "screwed over" place... first Mentzer and now Jeffers.. what the fuck??!11!??

Rusty's posing CD is excellent and much needed.  If other pros posed anywhere near as artfully as Rusty does, pro shows would have much greater entertainment value.  But the CD is probably primarily directed to amatuers who're still learning the art of posing.  If it's been reviewed in any of the magazines, though, I haven't seen it.  C'mon bb mag editors, this may be one of the most helpful CDs now on the market.

Not like this totally applies but that whole 5th place rule is interesting......that's what took Hans over the edge in 2001...5th place.

I worked for weeks on that damn DVD and it isn't aimed at only amateurs....there are a lot of pros who are amateur posers...that's not meant to be a smack, it just means presentation is all you have to bring to the stage,,,no one cares how much you bench or how much you squat..this is what we use to show all the work, it's a shame it's not given more thought...when I think of the old timers, that was what was their trademark,,,not a string of mandatories.  The DVD does take you through everything from basic quarter turns, through mandatories, some advanced type of posting also, but it is aimed at anyone who wants to do the basics well, which evidentally is given the most weight.
