Don't you just love big corporations... The worst fucking service in the world and usually very little way to deal with them personally and actually talk to someone about the problems.  And when you do, the person on the other end is absolutely a useless POS repeating what you could have grabbed from their online faq which says nothing.

You're correct, wrong in the eyes of someone that has no clue of what they're talking about.

An iPod has no practical benefit from any other quality mp3 player. And when cost and ease of use are factored in the iPod becomes nothing but an overpriced trend the masses can't get enough of.

I know it's difficult for sheep to not follow the herd so don't be too hard on yourself just because you don't understand what I'm saying.

I just returned a Vaio laptop b/c the fan was too noisy . . . I'm back to using my old powerbook, and thinking positive thoughts about apple.

never had any problems w my iPod, and use it to watch movies in airports, listen to music while working out, fishing . . . etc. imo, well worth the price, and i've never had any issues w iTunes either.

The only easy to use, integrated solution. iTunes and the iPod. One thing for you iPod, iTunes basher- if it wasn't for Steve Jobs and Apple computer you would be paying a lot more than 99 cents per tune. In fact, if it weren't for Jobs and Apple you wouldn't be able to download anything but complete albums. Apple has great leverage over the record companies and he has fought tooth and nail to keep songs capped at 99 cents and the ability tyo buy tunes individualy.

use to use that . too much spyware and adds with it. a friend of mine who is a computer whiz told me tha limewire is horrible for your computer. i use bearshare now. works great with no spyware/adds/pop-ups.

The fan must have been pretty loud to cause you to return the laptop, my desktop has 8 fans and it's pretty loud but it also stays cool. From my relatively limited experience with MAC's I'd say they are a superior product to PC's. I'm just not so sure if that superiority isn't due to the fact that Windows isn't their operating system as opposed to any real hardware superiority.

My main issue with iPods is their absolute reliance on iTunes and their inflated price. I think the reliance on iTunes is a design flaw. I also think it's sole purpose is to ensure a constant revenue stream for Apple.

Someone please explain to me the wisdom of iTunes being the only way to manage an iPod? It makes absolutely no practical sense. Nearly all other MP3 players show up in Windows as another drive that can be used in anyway you choose. iPod's do not show up as another drive, in fact without iTunes Windows doesn't even recognize them.  ::)

If you ever get the chance and gumption you could try an install of Linux and Rockbox on your iPod and see the difference not being reliant on iTunes makes. I bet you'll love how much more freedom you have.

No offense but put the crack pipe down. Perhaps you can sing that bullschit song to someone without any practical knowledge but it's not going to work with someone that actually knows what they're talking about.  ::)

You wouldn't happen to work for Apple now would you?

No, but I have been using Mac's since 1990. I prefer Mac's but have pc's with both Windows and many flavors of Linux installed. Effin, the record companies and artists only want to sell whole albums. They make more money that way. Steve Jobs fought hard against that and won for now. The record companies also wanted a sliding scale for songs. The more popular the tune the more you pay. Jobs fought against that and won. Both those things benefit the consumer over the record companies. Its all on record. Also please tell me who has an integrated solution like Apple? They have 90% of the market for a reason. Oh yeah, please pass me that crackpipe you are bogarting. ::)

Notice how you keep ignoring the inherent problems with iTunes and instead focus on the cost of songs? I've asked twice for someone to explain to me the wisdom in having the iPod be completely relient on iTunes yet you haven't answered the call. I wonder why that is?

As I said, put the crack pipe down, you've had enough. And take Jobs' cock out of your mouth, it only makes you look bad to continually defend him by avoiding my main point.

limewire is the best, but it does drop monster spyware no matter what.

Your best bet is to get a $90 computer, a nice 500 mhz monster, and just have that thing plugging away 24/7, downloading songs and movies.  get a 15inch monitor for $40, mouse and keyboard, and you have a download monster for under $150 that will outlive your foreign made car.
