AO, that 11.3M case was a joke. The woman sued someone who never showed up in court and she will never collect. I think it was a Katrina evacuee that she actually sued. So being awarded 11.3M, and collecting 11.3M, and about as different as night and day.
That being said, it's within your right to go after him, if he is indeed lying, if you have the money to hire a lawyer, if you want to waste the money pursuing it, if you want prying eyes in whatever it is you're doing, and many more factors.
And if you do pay a lawyer, get a microscope on your business (your work is likely far more interesting to the LVPD than TA's postings are to a local PD in NC), and win a settlement, he really never has to pay. But it's the USA, you're within your right.
