IFBB Pro Committee updates
« on: October 22, 2006, 10:04:43 PM »
• The Pro Committee discussed a proposal by Bob Cicherillo and Jenny Lynn to remove the "declaration" rule and to permit female athletes to compete in any of the three women's sport disciplines at any point in the year. This was adopted. This eliminates the requirement to "declare" one specific sport discipline (Bodybuilding, Fitness or Figure) on renewal of an individual's membership.

• The Pro Committee discussed a proposal by Bob Cicherillo to increase the per diem for athletes from $50.00 to $75.00. This was adopted.

I honestly believe they are trying to beef up fitness and bodybuilding by weeding out some of the figure competitors.  They are trying to force all the extra muscular figure girls to either go up to bodybuilding or move over to fitness.  Many of us figure competitors went the figure route is because it's "easier", no routines.  This change in the splits makes it slightly more appealing to figure gals.  I believe there was talk, that bodybuilding and fitness have truly been hurting since the rise of figure, and this is the IFBB's way, and I'm sure soon the NPC's way of replenishing those wounded classes.
