the only allusion to prohibiting a pro to enter is in the original thread where Tainted Anus and his lackeys talk about what THEY think the rules should be. the actual MrGetbig site says nothing of the sort. if someone entered the contest and only read the ACTUAL contest site where rules are posted, which -by the way- are the only rules that matter, then a pro could have entered.

I don't know what you intentions are in ths "sport" but will have a ton of trouble getting real exposure and influencing people. This comes down to morality. Every organization has every right to disqualify a member if their behavior is deemed immoral. Even if it wasn't in the official rules, the organization can still act if it feels the member was acting out of malice and trickery. I believe he was, it was a devilish scheme. I believe by not acting the organizers are further advancing his scheme and making themselves and the members of getbig look like suckers.

Thanks 240 for pointing me to this thread. As I mentioned on another thread yesterday, I've been off the boards for the last few weeks (just got back from Maui), so I am just now learning of this. I scanned through this thread. Here are my thoughts:

After taking in input from anyone willing to give it, I posted the Mr. Get Big rules. After doing so, I asked for additional feedback before making them final. I specifically asked for feedback from the competitors. Not once did anyone suggest that no pros should be allowed to compete. Whateva played by the rules. He earned his 1st place fair and square.

On the other hand, True Adonis missed his entry deadline. However, I decided to give him a break and allow his late entry to be admitted (see...I'm a nice guy ). Had I known then what a sore and pathetic loser he would turn out to be, I would have probably not done so. Of course, that would have lead to an entire "conspiracy theory" by the Geek Squad, so in retrospect, I think everything played out as it should.

Every organization has formal and informal rules. Yes the formal rules did not mention the pro status. However what about the informal rules? the ones unwritten but we all know about?. Lets say the winner of getbig was discovered to be a child molestor or say wanted for murder, would he still be able to keep his title? No he would not. Every organization has the power to make a moral judgement outside of the formal rules. And in this case I believe hiding his pro status purposely in order to impress the judges was cheating. It was dishonest and unfair to the other competitors and certainly grounds for removing his title.

TA emailed me before the deadline and asked when I needed them. I gave him a time which was my web design timeline. i didn't know what the official timeline was. I took the hit for that one... I jsut had my head in the monster framework design and seriously didn't even look at the ruled time.

Well it would be up to the judges, Just like any judge they have to make decisions outside the formal written law. Even Ron here on getbig has to make decisions outside of what is written in the formal rules of conduct at getbig.com. If TA did in fact miss the deadline, the judges would need to find out why and make a decision. But as far as purposely hiding ones pro status to decietfully impress the judges was clearly breaking the universal informal rule of fair sportsmanship and just plain morality.

I feel fine about TA's submission as it seems he actually took the pics in the determined time frame:

But I also have seen no evidence that Whateva purposely hid his pro status (even Bast's face was missing). There are other reasons for not wanting your face posted on getbig as I'm sure you've witnessed several photoshops....some hilarious, and some disturbing.

The main point is that it was not written in the final rules that someone could not be a pro.

TA should be happy about his transformation. That took a lot of discipline and hard work.

I take the blame for the pic timeline mistake- he asked before the deadline and I gave him a tim which was after the official deadline, which I didn't know. I think he wanted to take some after work or something, and I said no problem. There were some growing pains to this contest, but he certainly couldn't be penalized for something I told him.
