Wow... mass with no distension and without 6 inches of "obliques" on each side.  As much as people here always claim one guy owns another because he is bigger, to me if it can't be done in this way it shouldn't count for much at all when judging.  This is a bodybuilder!

In all seriousness, I'm not sure why Francois gets so much praise.

1. Big, but blocky. Like Cutler.
2. Not very good looking Front Double Bi Shot
3. No "pop" to his Front Lat Spread + somewhat high insertions for his lats.

Dont get me wrong - great bb, but I'd say he was more of a top-of-the-heap of the 2nd tier guys, than among the true 1st tier guys (Ray, Flex, Dillet, Levrone, Yates, etc)

Is it a general rule that every retired pro should have the token "COULD HAVE WON A SANDOW" attached to him? I mean come on. If he was Mr. O worthy he's be Mr. O. He's not. He's shit

Hard to find many shots on Google, but I always did think he was kinda blocky.

Relatively thick waist.

Granted the guys that took 2nd to him were Darryl Stafford (when he became a pro) + a small Flex Wheeler (when he won the ASC), who had pretty small waists.

it was a forced retirement cause he was sick. he was only pro for a few years and given time to develope he would have had a great chance at the mr.O.

he did win the ASC

You're an idiot. In these videos he's better than the current Mr. O Jay Cutler. He beat a very good Flex Wheeler at the Arnold Classic and most certainly could have had a few Sandows were it not for his illness.

spot on...my how the memories fade over time- and former pros become legends to those who are now seeing them for the first time.

he was good....but around top 5, maybe 5-10 material. top 2-3 in some fields.

Same thing Lee Haney said about Mike when he won the Arnold. He said he thought Flex should have won, because Kime was too blocky.  It was a toss up, just like the 96 Arnold was. Mike looked great, Flex looked good for someone who broke his neck in two places the yr before. Mike has better lines than Cutler, and was by far te more marketable person, behind Dennis Newman.

Fair criticism..... Just like Haney being overrated. Decent arms, fucked up abs and decent legs. Haney was all back and chest. Only Mr O's I feel where not overrated where Samir, Yates, Coleman,Cutler and Arnold
