What a stupid statement. Thats one of many interpretations and of course, she, as a representative of this pathetic establishment, would use that 1 interpretation. Someone could actually be physically straining. And this was his "first offence"....and he gets kicked out of the gym? Someone gets kicked out every other week? Pathetic. If someone is acting like an asshole repeatedly, thats certainly different.

No offense taken, just a disscussion. Just because a club has rules, doesn't always mean they are legally enforceable or that they cannot cause damage to the person for enforcing them. The law is not cut and dry like this with respect to business catoring to the open public. It depends on the circumstances of the case.

Within signing any agreement with any facility you are also signing that you will obey all rules of the facility as stated by most agreements...Complain all one wants, but one has no arguement after sign said agreement....Good point though Shoot...

There is a woman where I train, and she screams and moans while she trains. Shes like 50, pretty good shape, but I swear sometimes it sounds like a cross between her having sex or the exorcist! Really overboard sometimes, no one says anything to her, whatchagonnado.

You know what though.... If a gym has posted those types of ridiculous, anal rules that Planet Fitness has that should give you a clue to avoid it like a plague.

I can understand gyms not wanting hardcore bodybuilders there. Almost no one does. I well remember when Adrian Batho, a former pro and Mr Australia, owned a gym and removed dumbbells over 100 pounds. He was convinced that family fitness was the way to go to make a profit. He lost his two gyms, anyway, so perhaps he wasn't a good businessman.

We have a separate large room for free weights. That was the best thing we have done in the 35 years we have had a gym in Sydney. Every gym owner I have talked to worries about having bodybuilders as members. We have always had bodybuilders but we also have rules. I don't mind them because I am one of them but we have had to cancel a membership or two on guys who weren't paying up to date and not respecting office staff.

The publicity Planet Fitness got and is getting will do them a lot of good. Very clever strategy because every gym is frequented by average people. The bodybuilders are the minority even in hardcore gyms. I would bet they get heaps of new members over this issue.

the hard core gym is a dying breed....

i train at a "health club"... they did get me new dumbbells though... all the way up to 140s (they used to end at 120)... so not all is lost.....

but i keep the musclehead attitude to a minimum... intensity is on the inside... ego is on the outside
