When I was in the 7th grade I had a real intense phys ed teacher. The guy was awesome and was so serious when it came to physical fitness and getting us ready for the Presidents council on physical fitness test all kids in NY schools (and I imagine throughout the country) had to take. He brought us to the field and after a 10 minute mile we had to go through a series of body weight exercise on the multiple height bars, slant boards in the playground area. later I learned that this type of training was common in the military where he served. My twin brother boxes and still to this day oes to the nearest park that has bars, monkeys etc and that's where he trains.... Great stuff here. 1 more thing, it's the kid that is hitting the rocks with the bat or stick all day or the kid shootin oops at the broken down court without a net and a slanted hoop that ultimately becomes great. Fancy gyms and fancy equipment rarely made or makes a champion, unless we're talking tennis, golf or equestrian, in which case I want nothing to do with, lol.
