Bush actually used gas prices as a reason to stay in iraq?

in 2002, Rumsfeld mocked the idea that we wanted to go to iraq for oil.

Yesterday in colorado, Bush told a crowd we needed to stay in iraq so other nations wouldn't be able to raise gas prices.  He said it was important that the US control all resources.

WHAT THE HELL?  We have men dying now, so we can save money at the pump?  And it's our right to move into other nations and *manage* their selling prices of oil?  How can anyone defend this?  If you have lost a friend or family member at war... did he'she die so that you could get gas cheaper?  What a sad day.
