Predictions: Asian Games in Doha – Qatar December 2006
« on: November 09, 2006, 12:14:49 AM »
60KG:  A lot of guys in the weight might win but My Favorite is Pham Van Mach (Vietnam)
Other posibilities: Quiang CHENG (China) or Ibrahim bin Sihat - (Singapore)

65Kg:   Most probably Abdulsamad but maybe Michael O. Borenaga (Philippines) will win

70:  now that Husain Jasim from Bahrain is out it will be between Saman Sorabi (Iran) or (Muharam Behnamai) My Favorite is Muharram

75kg: between Chan Yun To (China Hong Kong) and Baitollah ABBASPOUR (Iran)

80KG: Sitthi CHAROENRITH (Thailand) or Ly Duc (Vietnam)

85KG: Kamal Abdulsalam

90KG: Ali Tabrizi

Over 90KG: still not confirmed if there will be a 100KG category, nothing in the itinerary but word is out that there might be a 100KG category.  Anyhow Jassim Al-Abdulla from Qatar should place well in this category.

Of course this is what I think and it can go either way.  As we have learned in the past you don’t have to be the best on stage to win specially in these events.

Sazali vs Boreneaga for the Bantams. Last year the Filipino guy beat Sazali for SEa Games gold.

05 was a real Bad year for Samad.  He got 2nd in the world 2nd in the Asian C.ship and 2nd in the SEA Games.  But this year this year I think he will make it and get get 1st in the Asian Games.  Unless … there is a political issue in the ABBF

We already know the whole team:

The rest are Nooh, Faisal, Mohd Mirza and Abbas.  So who are the black horses??

I think faisal should do well and Mohammed Sabbah is one of the best if he can bring in the condition.  And play it smart.

I heard Tariq is doing cardio every morning at 6 at bodaya3 in the country club.  Wish him all the best.

Although I hate to say but it will be very hard for Bahrian to get a gold medal this year.  of course at Bussan (Korea) the Bahraini team ruled but the sport has evolved and so have the other BBers.  This year you have 4 world champions and 1 master champion.  It is the toughest competition after the world c.ship.

Wish the Bahraini Team all the best.

Actually, the Asian Games is very very prestigious, only behind Olympics. Even the great bullshit (Ali 'Baba" Amini) would agree. ;D

The criteria for getting medals is not being Singaporean.  The country that hosts the event will get some good placing.  If you have 2 guys from the same country in 1 weight category, 1 of them will get screwed unless they are very good.  Then if 2 are good from 1 country the best doesn’t get the best placing.  It is up to the fed representative to decide who he wants to win.

So the best combination is to have 1 BBer in each category or there will be internal Chaos in the fed and between athletes.

And the main way to get medals is “The more donations the better placing”

asiansensation: do you know who is getting what at this point??  I think Qatar will get a lot of medals.  And they might be the best team (most points)

The battle for the 2nd place best team will be between Bahrain, Iran, Malaysia and Korea … I don’t know how many competitors Singapore has but if they came in with 8 BBers they have a good chance as well.

That my 2 cents

Actually Ali, Singapore are sending a full squad of 8 athletes to the Asian Games, and I see no less than 2 gold medals for them (especially with Paul Chua's assistance). Judging from the info posted on their website, it does look like it will be a mix of seasoned campaigners and promising newcomers; Aliamini's Bahrain is going down! Sadly, the shameless drug cheat Tabrizi (though his competition isn't exactly innocent either) of the host country Qatar is a 100% lock to win the lightheavy gold, unless of course he has been following his equally repugnant namesake Aliamini's patented daily shitloading diet since the Universe in Ostrava...same goes for his compatriot 'Kamali' Abdul Salam...

Aliamini, well, Qatar is almost sure of 2 golds through Ali T. and Kamal. Thailand most probably will get 1 gold from Sitthi ( a very good bodybuilder indeed and may cause a commotion in the IFBB pro when he turns pro after the Asian Games), at least 2 golds from Singapore's Simon (Paul Chua's goldenboy!!!) and ???( i have no idea who is the other one). Maybe 1 gold for Vietnam from Phan Van Mach ( a very good fly weight competitor) and Malaysia's Sazali S.
We must all remember it's all business for Datuk Paul Chua (the most influential man in Asian bodybuilding). The easiest way to bring a sport up in any region (ie in the gulf) is to "make" a few champions from there and the business will follow automatically (provided there's good connections with the sport federation and the government). I think the "gulf" is one of Paul's targeted areas.  Good chance the Arabs will get more than 2 golds (Ali and Kamal). Also, what you said is true that a gold medal has to be bought (donations!!) NOT earned!!! It's pretty sad! :'(
