Ferrigno had a short career?  ??? Didn't he compete in three different decades? I know he competed in the 70's and the 90's. Thats about as long as it gets.

Lou only competed for a few years. The early to mid 70's and his comeback from 1992 to 1994.

Paul Demayo, Tommy Thorvildsen (sp?), Matt Mendenhall... all great physiques who could have done so much more. I think Tommy is still around, he just doesn't do much..

Alq' Gurley

Couldnt get a sponsor. It shows the guys at the top of some of the supp companies are clueless.  Was probably more marketable than Flex and as Ray.

Anyway...had a hot woman like Flex's wife.

Some didn't want to make it a career choice, just wanted to prove to themselves they could do it.

Some had health issues.

Some had financial issues.

Some had drug issues.

Ferrigno has seen the highs and lows of bodybuilding.

From the heights of playing the Hulk on TV, to the lows of depending on residual income from picture signings.

Ferrigno may have lost to Arnold when it came to life, but Ferrigno still looks in decent shape while Arnold looks like he never lifted a weight in his life.   ???

DIV
Don't forget though....Arnold is a 60+ year old man. Not to mention he has major responsiblities as governor now. Working out is the last thing on his mind.

If you saw that picture of him at the beach in a thong, you'd agree with me.

Ferrigno is still in good shape considering his age.

Arnold is just............done.

Mike Quinn had drug issues:

http://www.t-nation.com/readTopic.do?id=459523

T-Nation: You struggled with a recreational drug problem for several years, correct?

MQ: It was an on and off thing. I wasn’t a drug addict. I was actually self-medicating the anxiety from my ADHD with cocaine.

Jesus, Mike LOL. Let me explain something to you: you were self medicating your DESIRE TO GET HIGH. Why the hell do some people try to justify their bad habits like this? As if they are kidding anyone but themselves. "I need to abuse drugs and get high every night in order to get in touch with my spiritual/mental/emotional side.". Well...no. You just like to get high, but if you enjoy lying to yourself, ok.

Now excuse me - I need to go O.D on cocaine to self medicate my ADHD. Then I'm going to dabble with heroin and mainline meth for a month for the purposes of religious experience. It's not that I have a drug problem or anything, I just like to get in touch with my spiritual side with a slow drip I.V of every form of contraband under the sun.

This isn't me trying to justify stupid bullshit behaviour or anything and it's not like I'm assuming you're naive enough to believe ridiculous lies in order to get social support to enable my problems or anything like that.  I honestly mean all of this.

You believe this, right?  Right?

matt you are an idiot.

people like you proliferate the belief that mental illnesses dont exist and it's all whining and complaining. no one you know has committed suicide eh?

not saying that mike isnt leaning on it a bit, but many, many, many drug cases have some sort of ''reason''. otherwise we'd either all be doing drugs, or all not doing them....
