Ferrigno had a short career?  Didn't he compete in three different decades? I know he competed in the 70's and the 90's. Thats about as long as it gets.

Lou only competed for a few years. The early to mid 70's and his comeback from 1992 to 1994.

Some had drug issues.

Ferrigno has seen the highs and lows of bodybuilding.

From the heights of playing the Hulk on TV, to the lows of depending on residual income from picture signings.

Ferrigno may have lost to Arnold when it came to life, but Ferrigno still looks in decent shape while Arnold looks like he never lifted a weight in his life.
