Chicken Nuggets
« on: November 09, 2006, 01:21:30 PM »
Okay, who loves chicken nuggets?  Hopefully...  EVERYONE DOES!  Well, the winner BY FAR of the healthiest version goes to...

Chick-fil-A!!!

Chick-fil-A - 12 Piece Nuggs = 390 Calories / 18g Fat (41%) / 0g Trans Fat / 18g Carbs (18%) / 40g Protein (41%)

McD's - 10 Piece Nuggs = 420 Calories / 25g Fat (54%) / 2.5g Trans Fat / 26g Carbs (25%) / 25g Protein (24%)

Wendy's - 10 Piece Nuggs = 460 Calories / 30g Fat (59%) / 0g Trans Fat / 24g Carbs (21%) / 24g Protein (21%)

Not only does Chick-fil-A's have almost twice the protein, they're actually made from "chicken breast meat" not the spongey crap & fillers the others are made from.

I know you definitely don't want to eat them all the time, but when you've got the craving, go to Chick-fil-A for sure!

12oz(1 box) or about 16 nuggets
520 cal

Are you sure that its not 4 grams per serving cuz the ones I am talking about have 4g per serving and three servings per box.  They are stone ground whole wheat breaded too.

McDonald's food is evil

Their grilled chicken salads (EASY on the dressing) and (fruit &) yogurt are pretty good.

Yes, in the case of an absolute nutritional emergency. I hate McDonalds, the stuff tastes like shit. The salads are even worse than the burgers in my opinion. Not that the nutrtional value is better, but the salads at McDonald's have a really low quality i think.
If i go there, i make it a cheat meal and have a burger or two.
I eat there from time to time to remind me how great good food really tastes, haha.

I'm not a fan either, but I have found what I mentioned above to be good.  The thing with MD's is some stores are corporate and some are independant.  You're not suppposed to be able to tell the difference, but obviously some owner/operators are better than others.  The corporate stores are held to a very high standard and consistancy.  Of course, in the case of fresh produce, there are some things that just can't be controlled.

Another very good chicken product which you can find in the Frozen Food  section of your supermarket is :

Co Name: Advance Brands
Name on the Bag: Restaurant Style Fire Roasted Chicken Breasts w/  Rib Meat
How to prepare: Heat 3-4 mins in microwave

Nut. Value:
Serving Size = 1 Piece   ( the bag has 4 pieces)
Cals: 180
Total Fat: 3g
Carb: 3 g
Protein 33g

and it tastes very very good for a frozen food... each bag is liek 6$ so its well worth it..
