Joker, it takes a lot of material containing DNA to bring back an animal. We might be able to do it with animals that currently face extinction, but I'm almost certain it's impossible for creatures long gone.

Aren't the japanese right this instant trying to clone a mammoth or mastadon?

Sure. ...the tusks may come out a little droopy, and when they make noises, ...it will have a slight lisp,
...but their wool will be a whole lot softer.  :D

Nope, not at the moment.  The code for both male and female is in all DNA but (usually) only one set is expressed.  I suppose in the future they could though by selectively turning individual genes on or off.
It hasn't helped...
