Goldeneye has the best first 5 minutes.

Cliffhanger was pretty good at the beginning, didn't think that chick would die.

You should start a new thread for this subject! My vote is The Partiot with Mel Gibson.

lord of the rings, the fellowship of the ring.  The intro when they go over the backstory is great.

Come on. In Golden Eye he gets into that place. Kills all those dudes, goes outside, jacks a van, then jacks a motorcycle then jumps off a cliff, then off the motorcycle and into a plane, sits down and pulls up the plane right before it crashes.

I'm going with Casino Royale, but maybe it's because it's fresh... Maybe not the best first 5 of all time but without a doubt a very action packed start.

i haven't seen casino royale yet. top gun is a monster overrated movie. it's not exiting it was just something new at the time and those dogfights aren't nearly as exiting as old 1940's planes or star wars space battles.

Golden Eye was ruined in the first 5 thanks to the scene about falling into the plane as it was falling. Mindless; they could've easily written it differently to make it believable instead. I always remember that specific scene as the point when the movie became a joke.

Well-made, well-written movies including some previous Bonds & maybe this new one are much better when they're believable. Which is why the new Bond specifically said that realism was his intent in this movie, similar to the 60s.

It was fuckin awesome gibber. The graphics aren't as good as the newer games, but the gameplay is fuckin awesome, and for it's time the game was so big, so many good places to hide, set explosives etc. We used to play that game nonstop for over 3 years.

I am 32 and we did play it all the time. I was around 23 or so at the time. I still play madden all the time with my buddies. Most of my friends, even(especially) the married ones do.
