How do you feel about your gains?
« on: November 20, 2006, 02:35:17 PM »
Whenever I receive a comment on my physique (here and there), I tend to feel pretty good about what I've accomplished.  I think I'd feel like a cheeseball if someone gave me credit for a physique that was pretty much built on drug use.  Or if someone asked, "How'd you get so big?"  and I replied, "Hard work man."  Meanwhile, it was mainly juice.  I'd feel like a fag, which is partly why I don't bother.  So, at the end of the day, I can feel good about what I've attained and not like some kid who lies about smoking weed or something.
How do you feel regarding your gains, when someone approaches you and you know it's basically drugs that got you there?

Dude, honestly do you ever stop... I haven't seen one post from you (yet) that doesn't somehow bring up juice and how you hate it and don't respect anyone that juices.. you're a natural (now) WE GET IT, THAT'S GREAT... not everybody wants to be natural, some of us like to take our physiques to the next level, and believe me it requires a hell of a lot more hard work then training naturally.

My post has nothing to do with being natural.  The question is how do you feel when someone gives you a compliment, know that it's just the drugs you're taking that puts your gains above others?  This has nothing to do with saying you should be natural or not.  I don't think everyone should be natural either, not everyone has the heart to make solid gains, so drugs are good for most people.
Lastly, training on gear requires no more hard work than training natural.  I see people all the time gaining good size and they train like complete pussies....probaby have a mediocre diet as well.  That's not to say everyone on gear trains like a bitch, cause that's not the case.

Here's the thing though.. how do you figure that drugs are responsible for most of my gains.. ??? I had a very solid foundation before I touched any steroid.. I got up to a lean 215lbs. before ever going on, for me steroids were the icing on the cake, but I built that proverbial cake myself.. do you get me ??  I can see part of your point, there are plenty of guys who won't step into a gym unless they're on, and they've been lifting a grand total of 2 months. But some of us do it the right way as well. Without drugs I'm at a lean 248 right now with visible abs.. you get my point?

How tall are you?
I get your point and agree to some extent.  However, the majority of juicers are cheesers in my book.  All the same, how do you feel lying to people in regards to your gains though?  I'd rather be 30lbs lighter and know it's all me, that's just me though.

Same here mate - I went up to 220lbs before ever touching a drug - I had already trained for nine years before doing so as well. I was pleased with my gains after I went on the gear as I developed much more lean body mass but in recent years my heart has not been in it as much as when I was in my late teens and I trained my ass off just for a tiny bit of development. I wish I still had that drive today but other things in my life have taken over.

Dude, I agree with you, but just give it up already.

We get it. You're anti steroids.

It's a personal choice.

And yes, most guys out there use them as crutches. But there are alos those who bust their ass while on.

That is foolish to think that because you are natural and have attained decent size that you somehow worked harder for it. What exactly have you accomplished with your added size apart from receding hair? I think you are just scared to juice because you're going to feel inadequate competing against other men that do so. You are scared.
just push some weight!

Funny you should bring up this topic Croatch.  One thing I've found, is that you don't have to be 'huge' by bodybuilding standards anyways, to receive compliments.

Simply being around the general population who is either Fat, Fatter, Skinny-Fat, Skinny, whatever the body 'type' might be, if you work out... you'll stand out.  I work in IT, and the majority of my co-workers match all the body types I mentioned.  Standing out from the crowd doesn't take much muscle.  I'm sitting in a training course today, only a few guys in the course with me.  The teacher asks what everyone does in their free time, he mentions sports, lifting weights, I replied Yes to the latter and he more or less replies "Yeah.. I figured that much".  My monster 16" arms stand out next to skinny anemic looking computer dorks with 13" arms.  Sad but true!

So from that perspective, I am happy with my gains.  I know where I stand in the general population.  Though I have higher standards now, as I don't always compare myself to the skinny-fat computer jockies I work with.. it's the other guy in the gym who's just as dedicated that I want to beat.  Doesn't hurt to come back to 'reality' though, and realize how you look compared to all the lazy bastards out there.  Otherwise you may always be size-hungry (not neccessarily bad), and lose perspective.

Croatch, you think too much about juicers! It's unhealthy! Honestly, no one wants to hear it anymore because you've already posted enough on the subject.

How have your gains been recently? Have you reached your genetic limit yet? You havn't posted pics in a while.

My gains have been as good as I'd ever like. I train as hard as possible and have been since the summer of 2005. I've been living the bodybuilding lifestyle since the age of 17 and am now 18.
