The pop star and actress, who has been romantically linked with John Mayer since her split from husband Nick Lachey, is secretly dating the Dallas Cowboys quarterback, according to sports magazine Sports Illustrated.

Romo, who was spotted dining with Simpson's manager father Joe earlier this month, has refused to deny the romance rumours.

Simpson was also Romo's guest at the Cowboys versus the Arizona Cardinals game on November.
