The civil war and insurgency has been going on since then.

I'm sure if Bush puts up a vote of "Operation Fix the iraqi Civil War", the vote results wll be very different than the last vote ;)

I agree and that is why they call it an insurgency instead of what it is.
It doesn't take much brain power to see that Sunnis are killing Shias and vice versa.
Also Iraq's neighbors don't want it to succeed and are feeding the insurgency.
That is the problem with the long war concept, it seems like an incredible waste of resources until the outcome is known.
The cold war was very expensive with generations of equipment that were never used. Yet the money was spent.

Most people don't see the war on Terror as being worth the money now that they see what it costs.
I don't agree, I think the clash of civilizations has just begun and will only get worse before it gets better.

The money you want to spend on military would FAR better serve the American people by being spent here.

I just don't get why we won't accept teh UN offer to take over.
