Tempermental water heaters?
« on: November 29, 2006, 12:07:48 PM »
Now that its winter time our water heater has started acting up.  I don't understand it.  Last night it dropped down to 31 degrees and the water at 6am was almost too hot.  The other night it only dropped down to roughly 42 degrees and the water never got hot and didn't last long.  Anyone have ideas other than a water heater blanket??

How old is your water heater, is gas or electric?
Is your tank lined?
Has this happened in the past?

It honestly doesn't sound like a weather problem.
It sounds like either your element is starting to go or more likely that your water temperature sensor is screwed.
