Help Me, Please???
« on: December 01, 2006, 03:50:36 AM »
I am new here, I was turned on to the forum by my husband. I will try to make this simple.

I am 5 ft. tall and currently weigh 137 lbs. I have had 4 children and my body is not what I want it to be. I know this forum mostly deals with competing and my needs slightly differ. My goal is to have a more curvy body (hips & ass), but I also want my body to look firm & toned. I want the stomach of Janet Jackson, the ASS of Beyonce/J. Lo.

I have watched my husband work out and get results in 20 mins. I have to almost kill myself, I take most of the same stuff he takes (DHEA, Tribulus, the whole BSN product line (NOXplode, Nitrix, Cell Mass & True Mass), Muscle Milk, Lipo-6, Redline and a ton of other products). I have even considered surgery & "roids"; I can't seem to loose the body fat & celllite on my ass & thighs.

I need to know if what I want is attainable? How can I get there & what is best to take?

Any help is appreciated

Thanks,
Mimi

Ahh, loads of people come into work wanting this look.

Best thing to advise you to do is go to your local gym, tell them what you want to achieve and they will help you, set up fitness regimes specifically for you. You also need a healthy and balanced diet to accompany the exercise.

Thanks,

I have tried that in the past, but was unable to continue due to the expense. I have equipment at home, I just need the trainer; my husband has been trying to coach me but he is also focused on his own physical goals.

Maybe I wil hit the lottery and then I can afford a personal trainer ;D

Mimi, welcome to the board!

I am a 4'11" bodybuilder, and I can tell you that I never take NO2 Explode, Cell Mass, or True Mass or hardly any supplement products.  When you are much shorter and trying to lose weight and put on muscle, your best bet is natural food sources.  There are really only a few of products that I would highly recommend you including:  BCAA's, glutamine, and a good whey isolate protein powder (i.e., Nectar, IsoPure, VPX's ZeroCarb).  And don't forget your vitamins.

There is no need for you to take all of the products your husband chooses to include in his regimen.  In all honesty, he probably doesn't need them.

I can't help you beyond this since I don't know your details (i.e., weight training program, cardio, nutrition information, pictures).

I'm only going to say this once:  DO NOT take steroids.  Surgery is up to you; I don't recommend it because I think you should try doing it on your own before you resort to dangerous procedures.  But steroids for a girl who simply wants to look like Janet Jackson is beyond ridiculous.

And you don't need a personal trainer if you have self-motivation and study skills.  For your look, you can use the Oxygen magazine and take workouts from there.  Look at Ironman and Muscle and Fitness as well and mix and match your workouts.  Try a three or four day split and work each muscle group just once per week.

You can do this.  It just takes time.  Your genetic structure is different from your husband's, so do not compare yourself to him.  You'll set yourself up for failure as soon as you begin comparing yourself.  And remember...the turtle won the race.  Not the hare.  Take it slow and do it right and healthy.

Gosh...where to start??Ok know where you start...at your weight what percent is fat and what is muscle...second check your diet...then modify your training program for your goals...oh yes all the supplements...are second to a good sound diet...which will be diffrent from your husband so I'd taper off your supps. see how your body reacts then base your diet off your body weight...Jodi is right check out Oxygen mag...also check out other fitness websites...you'll learn tons from others, who also workout at home...try www.danitzadenn.com...www.bodysport.com...w ww.cathysavagefitness.co m...www.mikedaviesfitnes s.com...go through each site read the journey and see it can be done, learn from them...consider hiring a online trainer...to get a base program started...what a great x-mas day gift...and yes I've seen they have programs for home workouts...Rember the ladies you wanna look like use a team to help them over the hard times...your husband is great support but you could use a coach who has worked with many more in your same boat...Oh yes try the hard work before you try anything else cause it's alot less to hire a coach then to have surgery...good luck!!Jas

Thanks, this is more helpful than you know.

I plan to post some pics, but I am a little nervous because it ain't pretty. I am not fat but after 4 babies; you can only imagine. I won't post any showing skin until I make a lot of progress.

Well, you be the judge when you see the photos. I promise to be open-----------minded ;)

What State and City do you live in. I know a lot of very experienced Trainers. My Wife was somewhat overweight when I meet her & now she is a I.F.B.B. Figure Pro. So, You can do it with the right info and motivation. Some of my clients have to do 3-hours of cardio a day to loose weight. So, until you go there, trust me you have a long way to go. Don't compare yourself to your husband. He is a man. They are different than women when it comes to training.

I am posting the pics that I had my husband take this morning, I also weighed and measured myself.

Here are my stats:

Age: 31
Height: 5 ft.
Weight: 137 lbs.
Bust: 36D
Waist: 31.2"
Hips: 41.5"
Thighs: 24.0" each leg
Ethnicity: Black, Italian, Native American
Routine: I currently drink Nox-Plode in the morning to get me started. I will also take Lipo-6 (Fat Burner) or Redline (Fat Burner), DHEA, Tribulus & Omega 3-6-9 capsules. I will dance as my form of cardio for about 25-30 mins. I use 25 lbs. & 35 lbs. dumbells; I use them to do Sumo Squats, Step-Ups & Stiff-Legged Deadlifts. I can do 2-3 sets of 20, I also do Kickbacks, Flutterkicks & Bridges (3 sets of 10). I do sit-ups & crunches (3 sets of 20). My workout can take anywhere from 1-2 hours (3-4 times a week) give or take. After I workout I will make a Muscle Milk Protein shake, I will drink Cell Mass, I will take a teaspoon of BCAA Powder, I will drink Glutamine mixed in Orange Juice and then I drink my shake. I don't drink as much water as I should, when I do drink water it is distilled water. I have a bad habit of drinking Soda & Coffee, and periodically Alcohol. I still eat junk food, but not a lot; my problem is sometimes I won't eat at all. I try to stop eating by 7pm. I love fruit & veggies, I can eat fruit all day long.

Well, that is an overview of my morning habits; I am ready for "The Good, The Bad & The Ugly" critiques.

Thanks,
Mimi6

Sup Mimi. Solid advices already.

I suggest you invest in a rice cooker, and focus on eating good whole foods such as brown rice, lots of veggies, et al.

As far as training... Check out the Max-OT schedule:

http://www.freedomfly.net/Documents/MAX-OT.pdf

Every workout is laid out for you during 12 weeks, and there are plenty of people on the training board that have experience from using this protocol and can answer questions if you have any.
