today and yesterday, the snwo is falling. ALmost 2" yesterday. Got below freezing up on the mountain too. Too bad it's still 78 down here

I had class's canceled thursday and Friday. The roads are still ridiculous, I spent a quality hour today pushing people out of ditches and ice patches today. The good that came from this was the cancellation of a lab exam. I don't have to take it, but I still get an A.

Expecting our first snow flurries tommorow. Went from 65 on Friday to 30 today.

Yeah, I'm in Connecticut and it supposed to start early this morning moving up from you guys I guess.

what he means is that that island is simply the tip of a submerged mountain that is extremely tall when measured from its base on the ocean floor.

Mountains are measured by their height above sea level. Otherwise, where do you determine the "base" to be exactly? How far into the Earth's crust do you go? Using his logic, Mt. Everest could also be measured starting at the sea floor, up the Asian plains and plateaus to its peak.

Yep, there is snow in Hawaii at the top of the Big Island which also has a ski lift. Actually it's a rope tow and a lot of skiers use it when the conditions are right up there. Volcano skiiing is a great experience especially on clear days when you can see massive and active lava flows a few miles away.

I was fortunate enough to watch a steady stream of lava flowing into the sea during the evening hours from a short distance away and it was one hell of a spectacular and unbelievable sight.

Visualize a full moon shineing off the white snow at the top of the volcano and and a massive flow of red hot lava flowing into the sea. Quite a sight and Only lives right in the middle of it all.

Jesus chrsit Goat what is wrong wiht you today. Wrong on everything. I loved in Kona for 3 years. That is on the Big Island. Part right on the second. I am too fat now to ski defntiely but it was my #1 hobby in high school. We had a cabin in the San Bernadino mountains I went to Snow Summit nearly every weekend and on Monday (ditched school). I started the ski club at my high school and raced NASTAR twice. I was mostly a freestyle skier and a was a certified ski technician for Salomon at United SPorting Goods in LA. I loved to ski. I have only skied once since high school. I weighed about 250 then and felt like shit. So I am pretty sure I would really feel and look like shit on the hill now.

First snow of the year out here in the east coast Alaska. Aka Boston. The commute was just great this morning
