this guy defined the word perfection..he was like a bigger version of lee haney with bigger arms and a smaller waist..how the hell he never won an olympia is just beyond me..27inch waist line is just awesome..fuckin amazing

That waist to shoulder ratio is sick! A shame no other bodybuilder has been able to emulate it since. Shawn probably came close but I can't think of anyone else.

When a guy is that big and has a 27' waist squatting is more dangerous than it's worth from what I understand, he just wasn't made for it. Funny you siad that cause that's what they used to say in the mags all the time.

I used to have the 88..or was it 87 por world on tape from ESPN and Brian was mindblowing there...totally incredible to see, he never really got into that kind of shape again but it made your jaw hit the floor.

he did a cool cover for ironman where they made it look like he was a statue...very cool.

BEST shape of Brian was in Mr O 89. He was really good but he didnt have legs and muscle hardness. If he owned both, he could be a mr.O.

Brian could squat he was very powerful but the muscle just above the knee let him down. he has a westindian food stall in islington still looks huge and doesn't even train any more. one of the nicest guys you could meet

Brian was a great competitor his main problem was size , he competed at just 210 pounds at 5'10" is taper help create the illusion of being bigger but his legs really hurt him , he had a world class upper body but his lower wasn't on par , he was damn impressive none the less. here is Brian at the 1988 Mr Olympia
