1998 Arnold Classic
« on: December 05, 2006, 05:38:25 PM »
Does anyone have any pics or video from this show?  Flex Wheeler supposedly looked his best here (yes even better than 93) and this is when Arnold bestowed the title of " Flex looks the best I have ever seen a bodybuilder on stage".  I remember the Flex magazine that review the show I haven't seen to many pictures or any video.

Flex had the best bb picture i've ever seen on flexwheeler.com like 5 years ago, of him at the 98 AC.

Check You Tube.  Flex looked unreal at that show.

I've come to the conclusion that the reason Flex "always came in the arnold classic in peak shape, but couldn't for 1 olympia" was due to the fact that he faced inferior competition (i.e. not dorian, not Ronnie) in the AC.

that must also be why ronnie's best conditioning was at the asc, he wasn't facing as good competition.

Ronnie was already the best in the world.

From every picture I have seen sans the 93AC, Flex was every bit as good at the Olympias compared to the Arnold Classics. And despite what people say about the 98O, Flex looked great, he was about 90%, but still looked great.

Flex did look really watery in 1999 though.

Chris should have beaten him easily that year.

I agree, but would like to add in that he competed in more than one contest a year, whereas Dorian only trained for the Olympia- he wasn't as burned out as Flex was since Flex had already prepared for at least one show earlier in the year.
