Toney Freeman seems like a cool guy; from meeting several pros at various expos, I always thought Titus was a really nice guy and funny as hell too

At this years olympia this is how I would have to rank them.........

1. Bob Chic for doing the adonis video (ultimate display of coolness)

2. Melvin Anthony- just a very nice guy, taking pics w/little kids etc, and super cool.

3. Chris Cormier- talked about half an hour to us about god knows what.

4. Milos- talked about 15 minutes with him, and he even took off his shirt, by the way, he was three weeks out at the O, definetely contest ready.

5. Kamali- I know sounds like horseshit......but he was so delusional he was cool. He told me that the other guys need to "look out" because he was coming for them in 07' ( i laughed in his face).

King was cool to me when I met him before...he told me...'Chi-Town is cool...I respect Chi-Town!' Hmmm...does that mean there are cities across the nation that he doesn't respect? Maybe he doesn't respect the city 240 lives in...or knny187...or Goatboy. I don't know.

Vince Taylor is nice and easy to talk to.

Chick and Phil Heath were solid. At last JRNats...I was embarrassed. I saw them in the bar after the show sitting at a table. I thought they were DRINKING-DRINKING...like a drink. I told the waitress to bring them another round of whatever they are having and keep it going until they leave...on me.

Turns out...they were just sipping on coffee and were about to leave. I felt like an asshole. They were grateful though and appreciative.

I got a GREAT Titus story as I was talking to him a month before his ordeal and had him calling me all night...he was cool but a little 'off' and 'incoherent'.

Jay and Ronnie were always kind of quiet and more of an answer you with a 'yes or no' from Jay and 'Yep and nope' from Ronnie.

Victor was cool as hell and HONEST about everything and tells you all kinds of crazy siht about the industry and what people use or do for gear. He hung out in Chicago last April. For some reason he let me pick his brain.

Art Atwood told me the TRUTH about BB's and supplements. They don't use them. PEROID!

Mattarazzo was my favorite to talk to and hang out with for an evening.

GV...although not a PRO was real nice and friendly and fun to chat with. He remembered me by name the next day I approached him without having to be reminded. That says alot actually if you think about it.

Lots of very approachable and friendly pros.  This sport has the closest fan/athlete connection of any.

Too many to list.

Yes it does. The fans have the easiest access to the pros than anywhere els.

Try calling Barry Bonds and see what happens. You'd get hit w/ a restraining order and have a knock on your door the next day.

These mofo's give you their cell #'s and tell you to call them anytime...I should know.

I've met about 90% of the pros since the very first Olympia and can honestly tell ya all that each and every one of them have been "cool" in their own ways.

Each of them strives for success more than any civilian and most athletes.

Each kind of reminds me of the young lieutenant in the Corps who strives to be the Commandant one day.

A couple of examples that immediately come to mind......

Gary Strydom ......... He gave up  three hours of his time on his way into an amateur contest one afternoon and missed the entire event in order to answer questions thrown at him by a group of fans entering the auditorium. When the promoter found him in order to intro him to the audiance, Gary apologized to one and all (including the promoter) and went in for an introduction. And he answered every question honestly and straightforward.

Porter Cottrell ........ He came to the gym one evening to train and was approached by a couple of guys who had "a couple of questions". Those couple of questions turned out to be a three (3) hour seminar for just about eveyone in the gym that evening. Porter missed his workout but was thankful that so many guys and gals stayed to hear what he had to say.

Arnold ..... We were walking down the street one Sunday morning when someone pulled over in a truck and asked him (us) if we'd go with him to visit his teenage son in the hospital. We did and that visit helped the kid recover from a pretty serious illness, so the dad told us much later.

Bob "Chic" ....... If you knew him personally, you would agree. Bob is always the first pro I look for at the expos.

Honestly can't think of one pro is not "cool" in his own personal way.
