I am a contractor and I own a BMW and a Toyota truck. About 2 years ago I hired my good friend to be my foreman and help me with my business. I let him use my Toyota truck because he had no car, and I needed him to be at work and be able to meet me on different site locations in my area where I live. Anyway, I told him he could use the Toyota truck I am still making payments on if he paid the monthly insurance on the truck because I never drove the truck and with him using it I could make more money with his help by him driving it. About 2 months ago, I found out he stopped making the payments on the insurance and now I am getting billded the payments. I want my truck back and it's in my name but I cant report it stolen because I let him use it and now his cell phone is turned off and I know he still lives in the same area I just am not 100 percent sure where. Any advice on how I can get it back. Again the truck is mine and in my name. Since the police wont let me report it stolen should I call a Repossesor? Anyone ?

no i dont have the keys,,and i dont know where he is,,i trusted him as a friend and he just cut out,,so i need to find him and get my keys and get the truck back

When are the plates due to be renewed? If they are due soon, let them expire. He'll be pulled over for driving with expired tags. The most direct other solution is to get in your car and drive to where you think he lives, and look for it. Put up Lost puppy posters in the area, ...only instead of a pic with a puppy, ...put a pick of your truck and the license plate #.

Talk to the cops who patrol his area, ...and ask them to be on the look out.

Don't lend your tuck out to people who you may not be able to get ahold of in the future.

The truck was to be used for work. Clearly, that is not what he is doing with it.

The insurance was your own fault. He should've been paying you and you paying the bill.

Jaguar is right anyway,,the registartion already came for it and I have that. So as long as I have the new registration at least he wont drive it. Now I can go try and find this guy somehow and get my truck back

If you said you have a general idea where he is, go drive around for a bit and look for the truck in the driveway or street. It's better than sitting here crying about it.

there are plenty of ways to "find" people

have ANY police friends that could help out? any mutual aquaintenances of this guy? ex girlfriends? places he used to hang out? come on man...its pretty easy to look for someone and find them. most people like that are dumb as f**k and creatures of habit.

if he was a former employee, call the irs and try to report some bullshit...maybe theyll give you his new place of employment....tell them that you need to give him some additional paperwork for his 1099 and you dont know where he is....its the end of the year and you dont want him to get into any tax trouble
