Anyone actually lookin' forward to this ROCKY BOLBOA flick?
« on: December 11, 2006, 04:54:15 AM »
I am! I'm gonna check it out on the first day of the first showing!  8)

And speaking of Rocky, anyone seen the Geico commercial with Talia Shire [Rocky's wife] playing a therapist talkin' to a caveman?  ::)

Should've had her in the movie.

why not?  If you're going there expecting Rocky or Rocky 2 you'll be bummed but if you go in and watch it for what it's worth you'll be fine.

First day, first showing. I am hoping they release it at midnight the night before so I don't have to wait until Wednesday December 20 at noon.

I hate that it's rated PG.  >:( It pretty much guarantees that there will be little or no cutting edge or darker feel to it. Just cookie cutter.

You know there's going to be some cheesy bullshit in the movie.

Ehhhhh... Rocky 4 was rated PG, and that movie was awesome! The best of the Rocky bunch. So give this Rocky Bolboa a chance.

Apparently, Adrian has passed away and the opening scene of Rocky Bolboa has Rocky visiting Adrian's gravesite.  :'(

Yeah but there wern't PG-13 rated movied back in '85, right? Therefore, even movies that had mild cursing and violence were given PG ratings back then.

There's animation films these days that have a PG rating so put that into perspective.

I smell another cheesy Rocky 5 like movie.  >:(

PG-13 started on July 1, 1984 actually. Red dawn was the first to have the rating. It doesn't matter what rating Rocky is, it's Rocky ffs, it's gonna be awesome. :)

I'm an internet geek so I wanted to see if Red Dawn was the first ever PG-13 rated movie. Guess what? It's not!

That distinction goes to the movie Dreamscape, also released in 1984, with Dennis Quaid. Not a bad movie actually.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for Rocky Balboa...... I smell a stinker, though. :(

Rocky 4 was the best of the bunch?

I remember renting that piece of shit and turning it off about 10 minutes in. I think it was the way they crammed the whole storyline into a  few opening scenes. horrible filmmaking

I'll see the new ROCKY on DVD and probably turn that off too.

How the hell did the script writers (if it can even be called a script) manage to come up with a realistic storyline for getting a 60 year old man into a boxing ring?

This movie (LOL) won't make a penny and will be laughed out of the theaters in a week.

I can't believe Stallone stooped this low.

Good ones. Like the first Rocky, great fuckin movie. 2 was okay, 3 starting getting played out and 4 and 5 were a joke.

It's a pretty safe bet any movie with a number in the title isn't all that good. The exceptions being Godfather 2 and Terminator 2

Groink, I respect your opinion, but Rocky 3 starting to get played out? C'mon, man, Mr. T was a badass in it!  8)
