There's a clip of Ray on youtube from the 99 (I think- could be 98) Olympia. Absolutely jaw-dropping, one of the top four physiques of all time imho.

Ray just seemed flawless- like Cormier.

Wheeler probably had better shape- more cartoonish- but had his fair share of flaws, for sure.

Guess it comes down to taste.

I personally like Ray's.  Classic muscle but still had some freak value IMO.  Flex looked a bit too cartoonish to me by the end.  His rear delts got out of control.

I think Wheeler had more weaknesses than just lat width.

Also, at the 98/99 Olympia (I can't remember which) Ray came in bigger- and his back was wider than ever. He hits a back double bi somehwere near half the way in to it and it's probably one of the freakiest shots ever in bodybuilding.

Shawn Ray was complete, had great, not just good, calves. Great upper back-lower back.

Wheeler had a better upper back and delts. His arms were overpowering the rest of his body, and it made him look fantastic.

But Ray was just the complete package, carrying the torch on from Bannout.

I would love to have freaky arms like Flex but not from oil.  I think he went too far and could have done more with his career.
