the competitors all look great and have done wonderful.  Several have lost 50% of their bodyweight - quite impressive.   One guy went from 308 pounds down to 152 pounds.

I was going to add a post wondering if I really did see Gunter in the crowd.  They only showed him for a second.   Not sure why he would be there.  Maybe for the same reason I watch.  He needs inspiration.

I watched last night. My wife asked " Who is that?" I told her it was Gunter, had no idea he was with Kim, I figured he was just another bodybuilder trying to break into Hollywood and get noticed.

An issue I had was that they focused on weight lost not body composition. That one school teacher packed on some muscle which cost him a shot at winning. I think it fed into a womans obsession with the scale when exercising and their fear of "getting big".

I absolutely agree!  Marty (the school teacher) looked great, displaying a lean and muscular physique!  Such a shame that a guy who puts on less muscle during his fat loss is rewarded over a guy who puts together a better body composition package.  Definitely a poor message to send out to the general public.  It's not all about the number on the scale!

A few of those guys who lost a significant amount of weight had limbs that resembled a 12 year old.   It was clear to me that many of them sacrificed a lot of muscle in their goal.

In 2003, so it was three years actually.  I think that is enough time.  Gunter is a big guy and has a big heart, and I think it's ok that he's moved on now.

this program is aimed at the ave fatzo in usa. the one looking the smallest with the biggest weight diffrenece wins because he/she will have the easiest time to maintain it + look the slimest/skinniest with out putting efforts into it.

that is what counts and it is perfect messege for american obesity which 90% of americans have due to them being "big" with out even trying. in usa you call 105 pound 5'4 chic anorexic,,while in reality it is you with extreme obesity that comes out very noticably the moment you eat pasta 3 times a day and stop going to the fitness center.

Its capitalism that makes one have excessives...It happend to the people who lived during the Roman Empire and it happend in the U.S....And with the globel economy on the rise, it will happen just about everywhere everywhere...You are now seeing severely overweight Chinesse kids...That just didn't happen 20 years ago...
